Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale: a very beautiful retrospective supercar for 2 million euros.

The Italian brand Alfa Romeo, which is part of the Stellantis Corporation, has introduced a limited edition supercar 33 Stradale with a design in the spirit of the 1967 model of the same name.

The new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale will be offered with a choice of petrol and electric powertrains.

For a long time Alfa Romeo did not please its fans with such exquisite, expensive and fast models!

Rumors about a new Alfa Romeo supercar that have been circulating the web over the past few months have been rather contradictory: some sources said that it would be a derivative of the Maserati MC20.

Others argued that the new top-end Alpha is being developed from scratch.

The relationship between the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale and the Maserati MC20 is indicated by the same wheelbase of these models — 2700 mm, similar dimensions and a general basic layout.

But most importantly, for the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, as well as for the Maserati MC20, gasoline and electric power plants are announced — for a small-scale model they would hardly have been made from scratch (too expensive).

The Maserati MC20 is a regular model at a relatively affordable price (it currently costs about 260,000 euros in Europe), while the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale will be produced in an edition of only 33 units.

And it is not known how many of them will be gasoline and how many will be electric.

The price is about 2 million euros, the exact amount depends on the individual wishes of each customer regarding the finish.

All 33 cars have already been sold, so the queue can be skipped.

The new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is very meticulous, but not literally, quoting its historical ancestor.

The 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale was one of the most beautiful and fastest cars of its time, with a 2.0-liter V8 that produced 230 hp. in road specification and about 275 hp. in racing.

Acceleration to 100 km / h in the road version took less than 6 seconds, top speed — 260 km / h.

It is curious that the farewell series of the Alfa Romeo 4C light mid-engined sports car was dedicated to the classic Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale in 2020.

The highly experienced Italian coachbuilder Touring Superleggera will hand-craft the new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale.

An all-new cabin has been developed for this model, with an analog aesthetic and a slew of machined metal toggle switches and handles (some of which are on the flow console).

The instrument panel is electronic, but in the standard display mode it shows a large arrow speedometer and tachometer. This supercar does not have a separate multimedia screen.

The petrol version of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is equipped, according to a press release, with Alfa’s own 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine (allegedly this is an evolution of the 2.9-liter V6, known to us, in particular, from the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA sports sedan), and not Maserati MC20’s 3.0-litre Nettuno V6, although they had similar returns.

The Maserati MC20 has 630 hp, the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale has over 620 hp.

There is a suspicion that we are still talking about the same engine (Evo magazine claims that this is exactly the case), just the Alfa Romeo press service diligently avoids any association with Maserati.

The gearbox for both cars is an 8-speed DCT type automatic transmission (with two clutches), all power is transmitted to the rear wheels through an electronically controlled self-locking differential.

The first «hundred» gasoline Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is gaining in less than 3 seconds, the maximum speed is 333 km / h.

Chassis tuning of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale was entrusted to Finnish Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas.

Powerful perforated Brembo carbon-ceramic disc brakes with 6-piston calipers up front and 4-piston rear are standard equipment.

The stock tires are 245/35 R 20 front and 305/30 R 20 rear. The curb weight of the petrol version is about 1500 kg, the electric version is 2100 kg.

Electric Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale — all-wheel drive, the number of electric motors is not specified, the maximum combined power of the power plant exceeds 750 hp.

The capacity of the 800-volt battery is 102 kWh (of which 90 kWh are available to the consumer), the cruising range on a single charge is 450 km in the WLTP cycle.

The same power plant is likely to be in the electric Maserati MC20 Folgore, but it has not yet been officially presented.

Up to 100 km / h, the electric Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, like the gasoline one, accelerates in less than 3 seconds, the maximum speed is slightly lower — 310 km / h.

The first copy of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale will be shipped to the customer in December 2024, and production will end in 2026.
