Ford Transit Courier 2024.

The Americans have declassified the second generation of the Ford Transit Courier.

Ford has declassified the new (second) generation of the Transit Courier.

It was designed for the European market of compact heels, and was developed by the engineering departments of the brand from England, Germany and Turkey.

Despite its utilitarian purpose, the model has quite a pretty exterior with a frameless grille and expressive LED headlights, which are also united with a luminous strip.

In the cabin of «heel» appeared a virtual dashboard (it is included in the list of basic equipment).

There is also a multimedia system Sync 4, and its most advanced version (with a 12.0-inch display) is exclusively for the electric version of the model.

Interestingly, the partition between the cabin and cargo area has a hatch. With the passenger seat folded down, it allows to carry long objects up to 2.6 m.

Like its predecessor, the second Ford Transit Courier 2024 is based on the Fiesta platform. At the same time it became noticeably larger and more spacious. Thus its length was increased to 4.4 meters (+ 0.24).

Exactly the length of the cargo area now reaches 1,803 mm (+ 182), and the width between the wheel arches is claimed at 1,220 mm (+ 208).

As a result, the working volume of the hold is increased to 2.9 cubic meters (+ 0.6). Two standard Europallets can fit inside.

Engine choices are 1.0-liter «turbo» EcoBoost with 100 or 125 hp or 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder EcoBlue with 100 hp.

These motors are paired by default with a six-speed manual, but for the 125-horsepower unit, you can order a seven-band dual-clutch robot for the first time.

And also the model has got an electric version E-Transit Courier (blue car on the photo).

It is set in motion by a 136 hp (290 Nm) electric motor installed on the front axle. What kind of traction battery this van has — is not specified. Long range is also unknown.

Maximum speed of the electric car is 145 km/h. It has a one-pedal drive mode and a front «trunk» volume of 44 liters. It has an AC charger with a capacity of 11 kW, and a DC charger with a capacity of 100 kW.

It is reported that payload of the versions with an internal combustion engine is 678 kg, and the electric car — 700 kg. At the same time for carbon modifications a package is available to increase the load (up to 845 kg).

According to the technical certificate, the battery version is able to tow a trailer weighing up to 750 kg, while the gasoline version has this indicator is equal to 1,000 kg and the diesel version — 1,100 kg.

But the electric car has the richest equipment. It is standardly equipped with keyless entry, a rear-view camera with parking sensors “in a circle” and an electromechanical handbrake.

For a surcharge for the model, you can order adaptive cruise control and a set of electronic assistants.

“Live” the second Transit Courier will be shown to the public for the first time at the April Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham 2023.

Reception of orders for gasoline and diesel versions will open in the summer, but the start of official sales is scheduled for the end of the year.

The model will be produced in Romania at a plant in Craiova, where Ford Puma crossovers are currently being assembled.

You should not expect the appearance of purely passenger options, but, in addition to the presented van, the range will also have a combi version (with two rows of seats and a cargo compartment) and the Active cross-version.
