MG4 Xpower 2024.

The MG4 family has expanded with a hot version of the XPower.

Such a hot hatch takes 3.8 seconds to accelerate from zero to “hundreds”, while the basic version needs at least eight seconds.

And for the Extended Range option, this exercise takes 6.5 seconds.

The British brand MG has been owned by the Chinese concern SAIC since 2005.

Cars of this brand were sold in China, and in addition, were presented in the UK, then, in 2019, models appeared in continental Europe, while MG Motor Europe focused on electric vehicles.

The MG4 hatchback was declassified last summer, and now the company has talked about expanding the family due to the “charged” version of the XPower.

The main difference between the MG4 XPower and other versions of the model is the «stuffing».

The model received a twin-engine electric power plant with upgraded electric motors.

Its total output is 435 hp, and the maximum torque is 602 Nm.

This hot hatch takes 3.8 seconds to accelerate from standstill to “hundreds”, and its maximum speed is limited at around 200 km/h.

The five-door suspension was upgraded: the car received new anti-roll bars and retuned springs with shock absorbers.

Another model was equipped with new ventilated disc brakes with a diameter of 345 mm. With them, the braking distance of the MG4 XPower from 100 km / h to a complete stop takes 33.9 meters.

The hot hatch was equipped with the same 62 kWh battery (useful capacity indicated) that the Long Range variant uses.

At the same time, according to unconfirmed data, the power reserve on a single charge for the variant with an increase in XPower was reduced by 67 km (to 385 km).

There are no changes in appearance, the interior is also almost standard: the same pair of screens on the front panel, one of which plays the role of a digital tidy, and the second is the touchscreen of the infotainment system.

However, instead of the usual seats in the electric car, sports bucket seats trimmed with Alcantara were installed, in addition, he received metal pedals.

It is worth noting that the basic version of the MG4 is equipped with one electric motor, which is located on the rear axle: for the version, its return (depending on the version) can be equal to 170 or 204 hp.

It takes at least eight seconds for such a five-door to accelerate from zero to “hundreds”.

Another option — Extended Range — the electric motor produces 249 hp, it gains the first «hundred» in 6.5 seconds.

The European MG4 EV has two traction battery options to choose from: their capacities are 51 and 64 kWh.

The range without recharging is 350 and 450 km, respectively (the calculation was carried out according to the WLTP cycle).

The version with the addition of Extended Range was equipped with a battery with a capacity of 77 kWh, its power reserve on a single charge is 520 km.

The company has already named the price of the MG4 XPower: in the British market, the hot hatch will be offered for at least £36,495, which is equivalent to about 4.18 million rubles at the current exchange rate.
