In Indonesia, at the auto show that opened in Jakarta, the compact Mitsubishi Xforce 2024 SUV was presented, which is formally the successor to the 4.3-meter ASX crossover.
The new product is designed for the markets of the Middle East, Latin America, South Asia and Africa, where it is going to compete for the title of the most spacious and practical car in its class.
Such a car will not appear in Europe, since the European Mitsubishi ASX is already electrified and is an analogue of the Renault Captur model.
The exterior of the new Mitsubishi Xforce 2024 crossover is reminiscent of the Mitsubishi XFC Concept, which was shown in 2022.
It was from the concept that new lighting technology was transferred to the production car, and the body received muscular outlines.
Compared to the previous ASX, the body has become longer (4390 mm), but the wheelbase has decreased by 20 mm. (2650 mm.)
The developer specifically emphasizes that the Mitsubishi Xforce is a five-seater car, which also offers a lot of storage space and has folding sofa backs.
In general, they tried to make the interior of the car cozy, because it was not for nothing that soft shades of the interior trim were chosen, and the front panel was trimmed with a beautiful and stain-resistant melange fabric.
The SUV is presented in a right-hand drive version and in the most expensive configuration with an 8-inch virtual instrument panel and 12.3-inch diagonal multimedia.
In terms of equipment, this option can easily be called a family option: with USB ports, holders for smartphones, a cooled box, an audio system with 8 speakers, etc.
For an extra charge, it is possible to install dual-zone climate control and an electric tailgate.
Technical contents and characteristics
In the basic version, the 2024 Mitsubishi Xforce will be offered with a one and a half liter naturally aspirated engine producing 105 hp. With. and a variator type gearbox.
At the same time, the car has purely front-wheel drive, although the ground clearance is a respectable 222 mm, and the driving electronics allow you to choose between “normal”, “dirt”, “gravel” and “wet road” modes.
An important nuance: while the previous ASX had a multi-link rear suspension, the Xforce uses a cheaper semi-independent beam.
Prices and start of sales
The Mitsubishi Xforce 2024 SUVs will be produced in Indonesia and will be the first to go on sale there.
This will happen next November. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but for the old ASX it’s between $23,990 and $34,740.
