It hasn’t changed so radically for a long time: the new generation Volkswagen Tiguan has been officially presented.
Volkswagen has officially unveiled the new generation Tiguan crossover
The German company officially introduced the new generation 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan.
As expected earlier, the crossover has undergone a large-scale modernization, which affected all significant parts of the car.
It will go on sale on the European market early next year.
The German model is now equipped with a full-fledged hybrid, providing an electric range of up to 100 kilometers.
By default, this version uses a 1.5-liter turbo engine with an output of 114 hp. Along with it, there is a choice of different electric units, together with which the hybrid produces up to 201 or 268 hp.
The initial versions feature the same turbo engine. There is also a choice of a 2-liter supercharged unit producing up to 201 or 262 hp, and a turbodiesel of the same volume, which is combined with a 48-volt starter-generator.
The power of the latter reaches 129 or 148 hp. Hybrid versions use an 8-speed automatic transmission, while gasoline versions use a 7-speed automatic transmission.
The German model is also equipped with all-wheel drive (not available in the “base”) and adaptive shock absorbers, which in top versions are replaced with two-valve ones.
Volkswagen presented the European version of the 2024 VW Tiguan crossover with a 100 km hybrid system.

The new Tiguan rides on VW’s modern MQB Evo platform, which is used in the Golf, Passat and Audi A3.
At the same time, the wheelbase measuring 2681 mm is almost identical. The brand promises 10mm of extra rear legroom and says the 648-litre boot has increased by 33-litres.
A new light strip appeared on the body. It stretches across the back of the car.
There’s another one at the front, where it forms a grille that’s narrowed to the point where the VW logo shimmers above and below it, just like on the Mk8 Golf.
The lower grille has three horizontal chrome stripes, like the regular versions.
But the sporty R-Line models get a diamond-pattern mesh and black fender flares.
The interior has undergone an equally major rethink. It sports a new dashboard with a huge tablet touchscreen with customizable menu bars at the top and bottom of the screen to compensate for the lack of hardware keys.
The Tiguan also gets physical buttons on the steering wheel, backlit temperature sliders and a gear shifter.
The right switch frees up space on the console for phones, wallets, and a nice new rotary controller for the media system.
The Tiguan will go on sale in Europe early next year.
