Evidence of this is the completely closed radiator grille, which, in fact, the electric car does not need.

Unfortunately, these test mules are fitted with the body of the current model, so any design decisions of the new generation are not noticeable here.

However, it is very interesting whether the new model will match the design philosophy of the ID series.

In general, it looks quite strange to launch an all-electric Volkswagen Tiguan, as the company already has a similar-sized ID.4 in its range.

However, all the reputation that goes behind the Tiguan should activate the sales momentum of the all-electric model.

In addition, the competitors of the «German», among which we can highlight the KIA Sportage and Peugeot 3008, will also get all-electric modifications.

In addition, it is expected that the Tiguan new generation will also receive rechargeable hybrid units.

However, the company already has the ID.4 in its range, which is about the same size, so the goal of launching an electric Tiguan is quite strange.

The updated model is scheduled to debut in mid-2024, with sales not starting until 2025.
