The Germans have updated the Porsche Cayenne: all modifications of the crossover have become more powerful.

In addition to a number of “Chinese” premieres, the updated Porsche Cayenne was shown at the Shanghai Motor Show 2023.

Both the regular version of the crossover and the coupe-like version, which has the prefix “Coupe” in the name, have undergone restyling.

The appearance of the model has changed slightly. The Germans installed a new hood and front fenders on the car, which differ from the old ones in sharper edges.

The headlights of the crossover are now matrix-based, and HD Matrix optics are offered as an option.

Each such headlight has 32,000 controlled pixels. With their help, electronics can «draw» tips for the driver right on the road.

As for the stern, the license plate platform is now located on the bumper, and not on the fifth door. By the way, on the coupe-like version of the model, it was located there initially.

Plus, the designers slightly changed the shape of the rear lights, making the jumper between them thicker. And other wheels with a diameter of 20 to 22 inches have become available for the model.

The 2024 Porsche Cayenne is the first petrol model from the German brand to receive an interior design inspired by the Taycan electric vehicle.

From now on, the crossover is equipped with a full-fledged virtual tidy, the readings of which are displayed on a curved 12.6-inch display.

The screen is located in the influx of the front panel, but it does not have a visor.

The driver can choose its graphic design, and among the presets there is a classic style with five arrow scales.

Switching interfaces is carried out with a special button on the steering wheel, which is now the same as in the Porsche 911.

The latter can watch movies from it or view navigation maps, and a special screen cover makes the picture invisible to the driver.

Due to this, the Germans completely reconfigured the center console, on which a new climate control panel with analog and touch buttons appeared.

Plus, there is now a platform for wireless charging of smartphones, and due to the built-in cooling system (from standard climate control), the Germans increased its power to 15 watts.

And the crossover has changed the upper part of the door panels with handles for unlocking the locks. In turn, the rotary engine start handle located on the left gave way to a conventional button.

In the base, the updated Cayenne still has a spring suspension, although new PASM adaptive shock absorbers were used in its design.

In turn, the air suspension offered as an option received two-chamber air struts instead of three-chamber ones.

At the same time, there are now two valves for each chamber (there was one).

This decision made the car more comfortable and sporty, and also increased the difference between different running presets.

The range of the restyled model includes four modifications, and in comparison with the pre-reform counterparts, all of them have become more powerful.

The base variant is still equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 turbo engine, but now it produces 353 hp. (+ 13) and 500 Nm (+ 50).

The Cayenne S version was previously equipped with a 2.9-liter bi-turbo “six” for 440 forces (550 Nm), but as part of the update, it already received a 4.0-liter V8 for 474 “mares” (600 Nm).

It is reported that such a crossover is capable of accelerating from zero to hundreds in 4.7 seconds (-0.2), and its maximum speed reaches 273 km / h (+ 8).

However, the peak output of the installation did not increase much — up to 470 forces (+ 8).

And it was also equipped with a different battery with a capacity of 25.9 kWh (+ 8.0), so now the car can drive in an electric preset around the city up to 90 km.

The most extreme version of the updated model is the Cayenne Turbo GT, which is produced exclusively with a coupe body. As before, it relies on a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, but boosted to 659 hp. (+19).

Acceleration from 0-100 km / h is given to such a car in 3.3 seconds (unchanged), but its maximum speed has slightly increased — up to 305 km / h.

The updated crossovers will be produced at a factory in Slovakia. Their assembly will begin in the coming months. Well, then the Germans promise to systematically update some other modifications of the off-road vehicle.
