Rolls-Royce Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection 2024 — edition of a special version — only 25 copies.
Rolls-Royce has dedicated a special Ghost Black Badge to the solar eclipse.

This sedan was called Ékleipsis and was complemented with many motifs referring to a rare celestial phenomenon.

The premiere was timed to coincide with September 14, 2023, when an annular eclipse can be observed in the Western Hemisphere (the Moon in this case is slightly further from the Earth than during a regular eclipse, and leaves a thin circle of light).

All 25 pieces are made to order and will go to the brand’s most important clients.

The most noticeable feature of the Ghost Black Badge Ékleipsis is the Starlight headliner. When the engine starts, 940 “stars” light up on it, simulating a corona around the lunar disk.

Another 192 “stars” are scattered around. The ceiling animation lasts exactly 31 seconds — the maximum duration of a real solar eclipse.

The exterior of the special Ghost is painted in a dark brown Lyrical Copper color scheme, highlighted by orange accents.

The orange color is also a leitmotif in the interior: it is visible on the front panel, sills, door cards and seats.

The leather on the chairs is dyed in such a way that the orange shows through more than 200 thousand perforations, simulating twilight lighting and creating the effect of depth.

The star theme continues on the front panel. It was laser-etched with 1,846 stars forming the eclipse’s timeline.

The exclusive watch is decorated with a half-carat diamond: it symbolizes the ray escaping from under the lunar disk at the beginning and end of an eclipse.

The watch was further tested in temperatures ranging from minus 30 to 90 degrees Celsius to ensure that the gemstone would remain in place under the most extreme conditions.

The Rolls-Royce Bespoke team produced three prototypes of the Ghost to perfect the design and perfect the effect of the new star ceiling.

More than 14 iterations of the design were created, and it took about a hundred man-hours to finalize the front panel lighting.

At the end of September, Rolls-Royce showed a Phantom dedicated to the Ligurian coast of Italy and the Cinque Terre National Park.

It also received matching body paint and an interior decorated with intricate embroidery in the form of grapevines and country outlines.
