Mercedes-Benz GLB 2020 — the new crossover of the German company.
The presentation of the new crossover from the Bavarian brand took place on June 10, 2019. The most interesting thing is that the production version was shown just two months after the presentation of the concept at the international auto exhibition in Shanghai. In the model range of the brand, the novelty has taken a position between GLA and GLC.

It is already known that the first sales will begin almost immediately after the presentation at the international motor show in Frankfurt, that is, the first buyers will be able to get their car around the end of September. Crossover production is established at the German brand’s own factories in China and Mexico.

Appearance

When you first look at the new Mercedes GLB 2020 model year, you can immediately notice the brand’s family features and sporty style with some hint of aggression. A completely new radiator grille is installed on the front, in the center of which there is a large brand nameplate, and chrome stripes extend from its sides.

It is worth noting that a slightly different lattice was used for the concept. Head optics received LED-xenon filling. From the front you can especially note the aggressive look of the model. The bumper uses several diffusers, air intakes, and aerodynamic elements that are different in their configuration and shape.

If you look at the Mercedes HLB in profile, then it should be noted a high window sill line, massive side mirrors with chrome trim, voluminous wheel arches, excellent protection made of plastic with metal plates around the perimeter. Rims got an exclusive design.

There are also a lot of interesting elements behind, this is a spoiler with integrated lighting, a massive tailgate, stamping under the license plate, and elongated brake lights.

Interior

Inside the new 2018-2019 Mercedes-Benz GLB, everything matches premium class. Leather trim, it is complemented by numerous elements of precious wood, carbon fiber, metal. On the front panel is a large digital screen infotainment system.
Numerous diffusers for ventilation in the passenger compartment are slightly lower, under them there is a control panel for vehicle operation systems that provide comfort for passengers and the driver. Some command buttons are mounted on the multi-function steering wheel. The steering wheel has been finished with a pleasant to the touch skin.

The space between the front passenger seats is used as rationally as possible. Already in the basic configuration there is a transmission control selector, suspension settings, a washer for controlling the multimedia system, a number of cup holders and a small refrigerator in the armrest.

Armchairs have a sporty look, have well-defined lateral support. The base has numerous electrical controls, ventilation, heating, in some trim levels and massage.

For passengers in the back row a very comfortable sofa is offered. Optionally, you can install a separate climate control and multimedia equipment.

Specifications

So far, a model with gasoline turbocharged engines for 163 and 224 hp is offered for the Russian market. A little later, the appearance of a diesel unit with a capacity of 116 hp is expected.

163 hp gasoline engine will work together with a 7-speed robot, front-wheel drive, top speed 215 km / h. On average, 5.7 liters of fuel will go per 100 km.

Four-wheel drive will be available for the version of the Mercedes-Benz GLB with a 224-horsepower engine, in this case the maximum speed will be 230 km / h. Average fuel consumption of 6.4 liters.

Options and prices

On the Russian market, you can buy a new Mercedes HLB at a price of 2.3 million rubles. For this price, the buyer will receive a well-equipped crossover.

For the Russian market, the transmission will only be automatic due to the specific preferences of customers. In other markets, a manual box will also be offered.
