Full review of the popular crossover.
The Qashqai of the St. Petersburg assembly has received much more improvements. In particular, a separate button for turning on the headlight washers.

For better protection of the body from dirt and sand blasting from under the wheels, the edging of the wheel arches has been expanded. The electrical equipment was also changed — instead of a 150-ampere generator, a 180-ampere one was used.

Suspension

The chassis of the Russian Kashkayevs has undergone a major revision. Used subframes (front and rear) from X Trail. They are attached to the body by means of silent blocks that reduce the level of vibration.

The basic version of the Qashqai, which is manufactured in the UK, is fitted with a rear torsion beam. Russian Qashqai in all modifications are equipped with a rear multi-link suspension. In addition, our crossover has different axle shafts: the track has grown by 20 mm in front and 30 mm in the rear.

Nissan Qashqai is produced at a plant near St. Petersburg. The crossover was initially well adapted to our conditions, and last year it was modernized.

St. Petersburg’s Qashqai have acquired new shock absorbers, into which rebound springs have been introduced. This solution significantly improved the ride smoothness. On the broken asphalt Qashqai rides beside discomfort. Along the way, the rumbles disappeared with a shaking — the suspension seems to work more intelligently.

Geometric passability

The angle of entry is 20.5 degrees. Not the most outstanding indicator.
As usual, the Qashqai is supplied with plastic protection for the engine compartment. If you want metal, you will have to fork out at least 3000 rubles.

Controllability

Having improved the smoothness of the ride, the Nissan did not sacrifice handling. She became more interesting. In corners, the updated Qashqai holds up confidently — a thicker bar of the front stabilizer helps, thanks to which the rolls are a little curtailed.

New software for the electric power steering, with which the steering wheel got rid of the former understatement and gained sane feedback. Active driving on Qashqai will be a pleasure.

Interior

Inside there are several important options: a steering wheel with a puffy rim, which makes it comfortable to hold, and even with a heating function.

The windshield is also electrically heated, and the entire area is «heated», and not just the wipers’ resting places. All four windows are equipped with an automatic mode — clicked, and you’re done.

The interior design is still not perceived as outdated. Also, there are no questions about the quality of the finish (there is no shortage of soft plastic) and the level of ergonomics — the fit is comfortable, the controls are well located.

The button for turning on the heating of the rear sofa is located on the center tunnel between the front seats. Passengers in the second row cannot reach it, an illogical decision

The phone platform is too tiny. Modern smartphones do not fit on it.

Second row

Kashkai has small dimensions, but there is no tightness in the cabin. Tall people feel at ease not only in the first, but also in the second row. Rear passengers have at their disposal a pair of USB connectors for recharging gadgets, personal ventilation deflectors and seat heating.

Equipment

In addition to heating the rear seats, a panoramic roof, LED headlights with automatic switching from high to low, a car park, as well as a system of all-round visibility, monitoring of blind spots, control of lane movement and automatic braking in front of an obstacle. Of course, almost all of the above is for a surcharge.

As an alternative to the factory multimedia with a 7-inch screen, you can get Yandex.Avto, which allows you to use the services Yandex.Navigator, Yandex.Weather, Yandex.Music, voice assistant Alice. Another thing is that the additional payment for such happiness is 50,000 rubles — a lot. The screen cannot boast of a juicy picture.

Engines

After restyling, the diesel engine was deleted from the engine line — from now on, Qashqai is offered only with gasoline engines. The base engine is turbocharged.

With a modest working volume of 1.2 liters, 115 hp worthy for such a cubic capacity were removed from it. The alternative is a 2-liter 144-horsepower aspirated engine. Both motors are available with a 6-speed manual and a CVT. But all-wheel drive can only be obtained with the most powerful engine.

Geometric passability

Qashqai walks in the middle on geometric passability. The approach angle is 20.5 °, the departure angle is 29.5 °. Under the steel crankcase, the clearance is 175 mm. At the same time, in the middle and behind the clearance is even higher — 210 and 205 mm, respectively.

Thanks to this «geometry», Qashqai does not give in to the off-road conditions of the middle hand — even the multi-plate clutch does not have to be blocked.

You can switch to Lock transmission mode at speeds up to 40 km / h — in this case, the thrust between the axles is distributed in a 50:50 ratio, and the car begins to more confidently make its way over viscous soil and force difficult terrain.

The diagonal hanging of the Qashqai, thanks to the competent ESP setting, overcomes without problems. However, there is a large gap between the tailgate and the rear wing.

Noise isolation

During last year’s modernization, the Nissan people focused on improving acoustic comfort. Now Kashkai has a new windshield (it has a sound-absorbing layer), additional insulation on the wheel arches and the engine shield, and the bottom is now covered with plastic shields.

Prices

The starting price is 1,250,000 rubles. It can be reduced by another thirty thousand — when exchanging a Nissan car for a trade-in. For this money, 16-inch wheels, six airbags, ESP, climate control, an audio system with Bluetooth and heated front seats, windows (windscreen and rear) and side mirrors.

The LE Top version for 1,880,000 rubles is too much. Leather trim, power front seats, 19-inch wheels, a start button and a driver fatigue monitoring system are a must.

Better to choose the 2-liter all-wheel drive SE + modification for 1,720,000 rubles. Fog lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, heated steering wheel and rear seats, multimedia system with touchscreen and navigation, rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors.
