The long-range and very powerful Cadillac Escalade IQ has been introduced. The Escalade IQ is a battery-electric alter ego of the regular Escalade, built on a modular Ultium platform with an 800-volt electrical architecture.
The new product turned out to be powerful (the peak output of the unit is 761 horsepower), long-range (power reserve on one charge is 725 kilometers) and dynamic (acceleration to “hundreds” in about five seconds).
The start of sales is scheduled for 2024, the preliminary price is from 130 thousand dollars (12.6 million rubles at today’s exchange rate).
The only thing the all-electric SUV has in common with the fuel-powered Escalade is its appearance.
In terms of its main components and assemblies, the electric car is unified with the GMC Hummer EV battery-powered pickup truck, and the Escalade IQ even surpasses it in size.
By default, the adaptive air suspension provides the Escalade IQ with ground clearance of 175 millimeters, and depending on the settings, it can be increased by 25 millimeters or reduced by 50.
A fully controlled chassis is also announced, which allows the Escalade IQ to drive diagonally — the maximum deflection angle of the rear wheels is 10 degrees. The diameter of the rims is 24 inches.
The electric Escalade has three rows of seats: depending on the version, the second row can have a three-seater sofa or two separate luxury chairs with a massage function, screens and folding tables.
On the front panel there is a 55-inch diagonal digital cluster; another additional touch screen is responsible for controlling the climate system.
An AKG audio system with 19, 36 or 40 speakers is announced (depending on the level of equipment).
At the rear, the SUV has a trunk volume of 670 liters (when measured under the ceiling), and another additional trunk compartment with a capacity of 345 liters is located in front under the hood.
The Escalade IQ is the third in Cadillac’s family of electric models, following the 5-seat Lyriq crossover and the Celestiq luxury liftback.
All of these models are built on the modular Ultium platform with an 800-volt electrical architecture.
Cadillac Escalade IQ is not a replacement, but an alternative to the “hydrocarbon” frame SUV Escalade.
In size, the electric SUV is comparable to the gasoline long-wheelbase version of the ESV, but it looks less monumental and more aristocratic due to its dynamic silhouette with swollen rear pillars.
Overall length of Escalade IQ is 5697 mm, width is 2167 mm, height is 1934 mm, wheelbase is 3460 mm.
