Cadillac Lyriq 2023. Cadillac’s first electric car will get a 500-horsepower all-wheel-drive version.

Sales of the model will start on May 19, but at first the electric car will be available only with mono-drive.

Cadillac is preparing to launch sales of its first all-electric car — Lyriq model will appear at dealers on May 19.

The first time the electric car will be available with a single-engine setup with 346 horsepower, rear-wheel drive and a 100-kilowatt-hour battery, and later it will be joined by an all-wheel drive modification with two electric motors that will develop about 500 horsepower in total.

Prices for the model were announced at the time of the beginning of receipt of orders in September.

The Cadillac Lyriq in the «welcoming» performance Debut Edition will cost $59,990 in the U.S. without delivery, which is almost four million rubles at today’s exchange rate.

That makes the Lyriq the brand’s most expensive all-terrain vehicle after the Escalade, for which U.S. dealers are asking from $76,195 (five million rubles).

Thus Lyriq is cheaper than the nearest competitors: Audi e-tron ($65,900 for the 408-horsepower version), BMW iX xDrive50 (523 powers, from $83,200) and Tesla Model X (670 powers, $114,990).

The Lyriq Debut Edition equipment list includes a 33-inch dashboard that combines a digital «dashboard» and multimedia system screen, AKG Studio audio system with 19 speakers, active noise cancellation system, front seats with massage and ventilation function, panoramic sunroof, 20-inch wheels and electronic assistant package, including adaptive cruise control and all-around vision cameras.

The optional Super Cruise Level 2 autopilot is available.

At launch, the Lyriq will be equipped with a 346-horsepower electric motor on the rear axle and a 100-kilowatt-hour battery.

The electric car travels 483 kilometers without recharging and supports 190 kilowatts of peak power charging, allowing it to top up for an additional 122 kilometers of driving in 10 minutes.

Car and Driver shared information about the all-wheel-drive twin-engine Lyriq, which will go on sale later.

The publication citing the representation Cadillac reported that the novelty will be offered with an installation capacity of about 500 horsepower, with the price tag of this modification will be lower than the two-engine competitors. The Lyriq AWD will get the same 100-kilowatt-hour battery as the RWD version, and the range will be less than that of the mono-drive SUV.

The Cadillac Lyriq rolled onto the assembly line at General Motors’ plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee, in March of this year.

The Debut Edition will run only 1,500 units, and the company will produce about 25,000 electric cars by the end of 2022.
