The price of the most affordable version of Cupra Leon is announced: it became even more attractive than «sports» Skoda Octavia and Ford Focus.
There is a new base version in the lineup of «hot» hatchback Cupra Leon 2022, equipped with an engine with an output of 148 hp.
This solution allows to attract new customers. We should note that the new version will initially be available only as a hatchback, but later may appear also a station wagon.
The power plant in the most accessible model uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged TSI gasoline engine which is already familiar from other Volkswagen models.
We shall note that the Spanish brand Cupra is under the control of Seat which is a part of Volkswagen Group structure. The cost of the VZ1 version with a 148-horsepower engine in Europe is 2.07 million rubles at the current exchange rate.
With a greater degree of probability the appearance of the new version will be the last change in the Cupra Leon lineup before the planned restyling. Renewal of the hot hatch will take place in 2023.
Recently, by the way, the new Leon with a station wagon body has been noticed on tests. As for the equipment of the most accessible version, it includes aggressive dodger, 18-inch alloy wheels, brake calipers in black, branded interior trim elements made in copper color.
The interior features sport seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel with leather trim, three-zone climate control, and uses illuminated sill plates and a customizable ambient lighting system.
The car comes with a 12.3-inch digital dashboard and a 10-inch infotainment system display with a rearview camera. The Cupra Leon’s stated competitors include Hyundai i30 N and Ford Focus ST, Skoda Octavia vRS and Volkswagen Golf GTI.
The transmission is a seven-speed automatic transmission with two clutches. The more expensive version of the model is equipped with a 242-horsepower 2-liter turbo four.
If we talk about the appearance of the Cupra Leon, here is offered a signature style peculiar to the actual variations. Thus, the car is available in a stylish body design, painted in a luxurious gray color with a silver cast.
The logo is made in copper. The 18-inch wheels are stylishly integrated into the general alliance, and will be available in silver finish.
The new versions can be distinguished from the standard versions by the design of the bumpers, rear diffuser and exhaust system, which are painted in the color of the body.
