Hennessey has unveiled the track-oriented Venom F5 Revolution Roadster hypercar, the main feature of which is the presence of a removable hard top.
The visually shown model has a number of fundamental differences from the original Venom F5 Revolution coupe.
For example, the roadster relies on a larger front splitter and flaps on the sides of the bumper.
Also, the model boasts a new hood and a roof-mounted air intake, which immediately evokes associations with the Pagani Zonda Cinque.
At the rear of the two-door, a wing with other end plates and a new rear diffuser are installed.
The developers also report that they have revised the design of the roof of the car.
The removable top panel is made of carbon and weighs only 8 kg, while on the inside it has soundproofing and Alcantara trim.
Its fastening is carried out with the help of four quick-release bolts and two high-strength clamps.
Once installed, it protects the interior of the car from any kind of precipitation.
In terms of technology, the presented roadster is practically no different from the coupe.
This means that it is driven by a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V8, which produces as much as 1,817 hp. (1 167 Nm).
The power unit works in conjunction with a seven-speed robotic transmission that transmits traction to the rear wheels.
The dynamic characteristics of the open version of the model in Hennessy have not yet been specified, but the coupe is able to accelerate from zero to hundreds in 2.6 seconds and reach speeds up to 483 km / h.
At the same time, the Venom F5 Revolution Roadster has a retuned suspension.
It is equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes and has wider wheels.
It is also impossible not to note the onboard telemetry system put to him, which is able to measure the lap time, time at control points and the magnitude of lateral accelerations.
The public premiere of the model will take place at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering festival, which will be held on August 18, 2023 in California.
Visitors to the event will be shown a copy made of «naked» carbon fiber.
There will only be five of these machines in circulation. It is known that carbon fiber sheets for such cars are laid by hand, after which they are sintered, covered with a transparent varnish and polished.
Well, in total, the company plans to produce 12 roadsters at a price of 3.0 million US dollars for each (288.2 million rubles at the current exchange rate). However, all of them are already pre-ordered.
