Toyota Tundra Capstone luxury pickup: lots of chrome, natural walnut, and hybrid traction.
The new, third generation of the full-size Toyota Tundra pickup has been updated with a top-of-the-line Capstone version with improved trim and a non-alternative hybrid powertrain based on a V6 gasoline bi-turbo engine.
Sales in the U.S. will start this spring.
At the end of 2021, Toyota became the most successful car brand in the U.S. and sold 2,027,786 vehicles, 10.3% more than in 2020 (here and below the manufacturers’ data).
Ford was second (1,804,824 cars sold, -6.5%), and Chevrolet was third (1,422,031 cars sold, -18%).
But in the segment of full-size pickups, Toyota is still far behind the leaders: last year its Tundra pickup was sold in 81,959 units (-24.9%, while the number of pickup trucks sold in the US market is slightly below the USA average. (-24,9%), and Ford F-Series sold 726,004 pcs. (-7.8%), Ram Pickup — 569,388 pcs. (+1%), Chevrolet Silverado — 529,765 pcs. (-10,8%).
