Polestar O2 Concept 2022.

Concept car Polestar O2 surprised with a glass roof and a quadcopter.

At the beginning of March twenty-second year there was a premiere of the conceptual electric car Polestar O2, which is intended to show the possible direction of future production models of the brand.

Before us is a coupe-cabriolet with a folding two-sectional roof, the latter being an aluminum frame, in which glass panels are inserted.

The joints of the latter do not have any visible seal, so from the outside these sections look like a single whole.

Visually, the prototype in many respects repeats another concept — Polestar Precept, shown to the public two years ago.

In particular, these cars have an identical design of LED headlights and lights.

Apparently, this is the stylistics that will be used for serial models of the brand.

The interior of the prototype has a boarding formula of 2 + 2. The developers used the same thermoplastic for hard parts of the interior, and soft components are made of recycled polyester.

Of the car’s equipment it is worth noting the Hoco Flow quadcopter, developed by Aerofugia (formerly known as «Terrafugia»).

Like Polestar itself, the latter is part of concern Geely, and its main activity is the development of flying cars.

The concept’s quadcopter is on a special platform behind the seats.

The last one here is located in the «aerodynamic shadow», which means the device can take off even while the car is moving.

The drone itself flies after the car on autopilot and can reach speeds of up to 90 km/h.

The drone has a built-in camera, picture from which is transmitted to the installed in the cabin of 15.0-inch display.

Reportedly, Polestar O2 Concept is built on the basis of an original aluminum platform of its own design, which will be the basis for future production electric cars.

The company notes that the prototype has a very rigid body and a truly driving character.

Thus there is no information about the presented car.

In the near future, the concept will take part in a number of exhibitions and promotional events.

Whether it will be put into production is unknown, but future commercial models will obviously be technically unified with it.
