Renault Scenic E-Tech 2024.

Crossover Renault Scenic debuted in two versions, but without all-wheel drive.

The electric SUV as a whole retained the appearance of its forerunner, while inside the serial five-door, as expected, repeated other fresh models of the brand.

The cross-country stage will be offered in Standard range and High range versions.

Renault continues the transformation of the line, while using the names of its «honored» models.

So, the Espace name is no longer a minivan, but a crossover, which is a three-row version of the Austral.

Well, Renault Scenic has turned from a compact MPV into a five-seater electric SUV: the world premiere of such an SUV took place today at the IAA Mobility exhibition in Munich.

By the way, the French announced the upcoming reincarnation of Scenic last year, showing the concept of Scenic Vision.

At the heart of the new electrocross is the CMF-EV platform, on which the Renault Megane E-Tech and Nissan Ariya are also built.

The length of the Renault Scenic E-Tech electric is 4470 mm, the width is 1864 mm, the height is 1571 mm, the wheelbase is 2785 mm.

That is, the SUV is larger than the related “green” Megane, in addition, the length and size of the base of the Scenic crossover surpassed the deceased standard compact van (but it didn’t reach the van with the Grand prefix; the length of the Grand is 4.6 m, the distance between the axles is 2 .8 m).

Outwardly, the commodity cross took over a lot from the harbinger: in particular, narrow LED headlights and “boomerangs” of running lights, a concave plug with a “mosaic” in place of the radiator grille, passed from the concept.

However, the tinsel inherent in show cars was nevertheless removed. So, instead of cameras, the usual mirrors were installed, central pillars appeared, and flip handles appeared on the doors.

Renault Scenic E-Tech electric is equipped with 19- or 20-inch wheels.

At the same time, a version of the Esprit Alpine with a «sporty spirit» is presented, its chips are matte gray paint, 20-inch wheels of the original design and an emblem with the name of the configuration on the front fenders.

Inside, nothing reminds of the concept — the interior of the Scenic Vision was too futuristic.

The interior of the serial electrocross was designed in the same way as the Megane E-Tech, Austral / Espace and the latest coupe SUV Renault Rafale.

That is, the Scenic E-Tech electric also received a virtual tidy and a vertical multimedia tablet placed in an L-shaped case.

Eco-friendly materials are used in the decoration — genuine leather is not provided even for the steering wheel.

The back of the rear sofa is divided in a ratio of 40:20:40, USB connectors and cup holders are built into the central armrest of the second row, which in addition have folding stands for a smartphone or tablet, plus there is space for storing gadgets.

The trunk volume of the Renault Scenic E-Tech electric is 545 liters, with the rear seats folded down, this figure will increase to 1670 liters.

The list of crossover equipment also includes a glass roof (without a sliding section), which can change the degree of transparency (like the Rafale coupe), it also has adaptive cruise control, all-round cameras, auto-braking and lane keeping systems.

The SUV made its debut in two front-wheel drive modifications.

The base Standard range is a 170-horsepower electric motor (280 Nm) and a 60 kWh battery.

The power reserve of such a Scenic is about 420 km in the WLTP cycle. From standstill to 100 km / h, the “standard” SUV accelerates in 9.3 seconds, the maximum speed is 150 km / h.

The High range variant is equipped with a 218 hp electric motor. (300 Nm) and a battery with a capacity of 87 kWh.

The range is already 620 km, and this performance weighing 1842 kg (the weight of the base cross is not indicated) will pick up the first “hundred” in 8.4 seconds. Maximum speed — 170 km / h.

Meanwhile, the CMF-EV platform provides for all-wheel drive (the installation of two electric motors), and some foreign specialized media believe that Scenic will subsequently have such a version, although Renault itself has not yet reported this.

The production of the new electrocross will be established in Douai, France, where the related Megane E-Tech is also made.

The Renault Scenic E-Tech electric will go on sale early next year, pricing has yet to be announced. «Green» Megane in France today costs from 38,000 euros (excluding benefits).
