Volkswagen ID.3 updated 2024: what has changed. Volkswagen itself calls the restyled ID.3 “new generation.”
The Volkswagen ID.3 electric hatchback has been updated for the first time. The modernization turned out to be so large-scale that the company itself calls it not restyling, but “new generation.”
However, the platform remains the same, as does the power plant.
At the same time, noticeable changes occurred outside and inside the car; more environmentally friendly materials were used in the decoration, and the electronics were updated.
Deliveries of the restyled Volkswagen ID.3 will begin in the fourth quarter of 2023.
The most noticeable changes to the exterior are a more formal front bumper with vertical slits for Air Curtain air flaps on the sides; slightly modified optics with a different pattern; as well as a different hood, without a black lining near the windshield, but with stampings that give the electric car a sporty look.
Olive metallic Dark Olivine Green has been added to the body color palette, plus new wheel options have appeared.
The company says that the differences between the updated model and the pre-restyling model are much greater than it seems at first glance: when developing the “new generation,” the wishes of customers were taken into account.
For example, the door cards were improved — they were made softer, and the armrests became larger.
The finishing now uses Artvelours Eco microfiber, which is 71 percent recycled, a polymer obtained by recycling plastic, and old T-shirts.
The functionality of the multimedia system has expanded, and the graphics have become more modern.
In particular, the automatic parking system can now “remember” maneuvers, and the charging management menu has become more understandable.
The number of interior ambient lighting options has increased from 10 to 30.
Volkswagen emphasized that from mid-2024, instead of a 12-inch screen, a 12.9-inch one will be installed — the display was not updated in time, so it will appear with a delay.
As before, the ID.3 is equipped with a single electric motor on the rear axle, which develops 204 horsepower.
Acceleration from zero to “hundreds” takes 7.3 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 160 kilometers per hour.
But there are two batteries to choose from – with a capacity of 58 and 77 kilowatt-hours. The power reserve on one charge, depending on the version, varies from 426 to 546 kilometers.
While Europeans are waiting for the updated Volkswagen ID.3, in Russia you can buy a pre-reform hatchback.
Both 2022 electric cars without mileage and used ones are available for purchase from dealers. Estimated cost – from 2,470,000 to 3,600,000 rubles.
