After numerous rumors and «insiders», Volvo has finally officially announced that a minivan will replenish its range, accompanying its announcement with the first teasers.

Of course, it will be an electric car, because the Swedes will no longer make “non-green” new models.

Van has been assigned the EM90 index, it will be presented on November 12, and orders will be opened in China on the same day, which will turn out to be the main (if not the only) market for the model.

In its announcement, Volvo promises a Scandinavian-style living room-like interior. And this is all the information from the manufacturer.

On the teasers, the car is captured from above: two hatches are visible (in the front part — a standard size, above the passenger compartment — panoramic), two separate seats in the second row and T-shaped rear lights.

Meanwhile, according to unofficial data, the Volvo EM90 will be a relative of the Zeekr 009 electric van, which debuted in China last year.

The Zeekr brand, we recall, is owned by the Chinese holding Geely Auto (it also owns the Swedish brand), it was created specifically for expensive electric trains.

The Zeekr 009 is based on the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform with air suspension, the Polestar 4 and Polestar 5 models, the new Smarts and the Volvo EX30 electric SUV are also based on the varieties of this “trolley”.

The length of the Chinese minivan is 5209 mm, the width is 2024 mm, the height is 1848/1858 mm (depending on the version), the distance between the axles is 3205 mm.

Now the “nine” is offered in the Celestial Empire in two versions, both have all-wheel drive, that is, two electric motors (on each of the axles) with the same characteristics, the total output is 544 hp. and 686 Nm.

But the batteries are different: the base Zeekr 009 is equipped with a 116 kWh battery, the second version is equipped with a 140 kWh battery.

Range — 702 and 822 km, respectively (according to the Chinese CLTC cycle). Regardless of the modification, the minivan accelerates to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds.

For Zeekr 009 they ask 68,300 — 80,800 dollars. In general, the Volvo EM90 electric van will have plenty of competitors, because the MPV segment is popular in China.

The most suitable rivals, in addition to the «nine»: Voyah Dreamer (Dream in Russia), Wey Alpine, Lexus LM and a minivan of a separate brand Crown.
