The South Korean company Hyundai quite regularly carries out planned restyling of its most popular cars of different classes, however, last year’s world premiere of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2022 crossover was associated, first of all, with the relative fiasco of the previous generation of the model, which was squeezed in the market not only by a direct competitor — «Kia Sorento», but also «big brother» — «Hyundai Palisade».

As a result, the new body was seriously refreshed, having moved to a new «trolley», the interior became much more comfortable for both the driver and passengers, and the engine line was seriously redesigned.

Hybrid power plants have also appeared, but such vehicles will not reach Russia. However, even without them, the novelty has every chance to restore its former popularity due to an improved combination of cost, quality and practicality.

Appearance

Even from the photo, it can be argued that the appearance of the new crossover is its strong point.

The look turned out to be surprisingly harmonious, and a large number of ultra-modern air intake elements, relief and lighting technology add charm to the conceptually verified unity of beauty and practicality.

The most interesting is the front end of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2022. It is set at an average height for a crossover, but rather long and high.

The sloping windshield turns into a ribbed bonnet that slopes towards the road, the middle part of which rises somewhat above everything else.

The profile of the new model looks brutal, and this feeling is created by the steep roof lines, emphasized by the roof rails, rather large, strict-shaped windows in chrome edging, as well as the relief that begins with smooth transitions and ends with chopped edges in the area of ​​\ u200b \ u200bthe sills and huge wheel arches with protective overlays.

The look is complemented by chrome plastic trims just above the sills, slightly protruding door handles, as well as large exterior mirrors with turn signal repeaters in any configuration.

At the rear, the car boasts a large lip spoiler that hangs over the tilted glass, the main part of the door with embossed Hyundai style and stamping to match the number, and large marker lights in the form of stars, connected by a thin LED strip.

The set of basic options, including lateral support, heated front seats and mechanical seat adjustment, remained the same, but there was noticeably more space in front of each seat.

As before, the new product will be supplied to the domestic market in four trim levels. Unfortunately, the cost of the car has seriously increased: in the «base» it will be almost 2.48 million rubles, while the price of the most advanced copies will come close to 3.3 million rubles.

Sales start in Russia

The capacities of the Kaliningrad plant Avtotor are already ready for the release of the updated crossover, so the issue of the release date of the car in Russia is no longer relevant: it will appear in car dealerships in early summer 2021.
