Posaidon has made the Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster more powerful than the Black Series coupe.
Atelier Posaidon, which has made a name for itself in tuning Mercedes-AMG models, has presented its new project: a modified version of the Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster.
The German tuners were upset that the new roadster could not be ordered from the factory in the extreme performance of the «Black Series», so they decided to correct this omission on their own.
On the Posaidon modification, the standard 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine is boosted to 880 hp. and 1,000 Nm.
The tuners managed to achieve such impressive performance due to the proprietary RS 830+ package.
The latter implies the installation of new turbines, forged pistons, a sports air filter, improved fuel pumps, etc.
Plus, the package includes a new exhaust system and a readjustment of the electronic engine control unit.
In addition, the company has strengthened the seven-speed robot with two clutches put on the car, so that it can cope with increased loads.
It is reported that the 880-horsepower Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster is capable of shooting from zero to hundreds in 2.9 seconds, and its speed limit reaches 360 km / h.
For customers who are not interested in such a serious boost of the engine, several alternative revision programs are proposed. In particular, tuners can squeeze 780 hp out of the engine. (850 Nm) or 830 forces (950 Nm).
By exclusively reprogramming the software, Posaidon specialists are ready to increase the output of the power unit to 670 forces and 800 Nm of torque.
Unfortunately, the cost of the modifications is not advertised.
It is noted that the RS 830+ roadster has become an alternative to the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. Moreover, if the latter produces 730 liters. with. and 800 Nm of torque, the power of the RS 830+ is 880 «horses».
Under the hood of the model is an upgraded 4.0-liter eight-cylinder engine with forged pistons, an improved ignition system, other turbochargers, and an improved fuel supply system.
The redesigned engine enables the RS 830+ Roadster to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds. In this case, the maximum speed of the model is 360 km / h.
Thus, the model from Posaidon accelerates 0.3 seconds faster to «hundred» than the Mercedes-AMG Black Series.
