One of the car dealers brought to the country a new Chinese liftback JAC Sehol A5 Plus. This is a 2023 model year car without mileage with a price tag of 2,550,000 rubles.
Under the hood of the car is a 1.5-liter 150-horsepower turbo engine, in tandem with which a CVT operates.
The length of the liftback reaches 4.78 meters with a wheelbase of 2.77 meters. The “Chinese” gets an independent rear suspension and a ground clearance of 145 mm. The trunk volume is 540 liters, if you fold the rear seats — 1650 liters.
The liftback interior has a digital instrument panel, multimedia with a 10.4-inch vertical screen and sports seats.
The seller does not specify what equipment was brought to us, limiting himself to the meager description “full”.
In the domestic market, the top-end version of the liftback is equipped with an all-round camera, built-in navigation, auto start, electric sunroof, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats and 6 speakers.
«Moskvich 6», for comparison, costs more — 2,626,000 rubles for the starting modification.
JAC A5 Plus is a fusion of the original Sehol A5 liftback and the “sportier” Sehol Yao (it was he who became the donor for Moskvich 6).
The body is like that of a more expensive liftback, but without the additional red body kit; the Plus also lacks a large spoiler on the tailgate.
In terms of length and wheelbase size, the new version is the same as the Sehol Yao — 4780 and 2770 mm versus 4772 and 2760 mm for the “just” A5.
The interior is also generally the same as that of the “sports” liftback: from the last A5 Plus it inherited the front panel, steering wheel and multimedia system with a vertical touchscreen slightly rising above the panel.
But the gearbox selector and buttons on the central tunnel are located differently, and it is still unknown whether.
Plus a two-story tunnel or it is “solid”, like the base model. The JAC A5 Plus also promises 360-degree cameras and a panoramic sunroof.
The technology is from “simply” A5. Plus is offered with a 1.5 petrol turbo-four with a power of 150 hp. (210 Nm), the engine is combined with a six-speed manual or CVT.
Sehol Yao is also equipped with a one and a half liter turbo engine, but with an output of 184 hp. and 300 Nm, in addition, the engine is equipped with a six-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. In any case, the drive is only front-wheel drive.
Prices are still preliminary: for the JAC A5 Plus they are now asking approximately $9,200 — $12,000. It is curious that the standard Sehol A5 is more expensive — from $11,000. Well, the powerful Sehol Yao in China will cost at least $14,000.
