New details about the Honda City Hybrid: what will be the main competitor to the Toyota Camry.
Honda City Hybrid 2022 will soon debut on the Indian market. The first teaser of the model appeared on the Web the day before.
The novelty should debut within the current week and will be the only model in its segment to offer a highly-hybrid configuration.
In fact, the Honda City Hybrid will prove to be the most affordable car with a strong hybrid after the market flagship, the Toyota Camry.
The new teaser image gives a clear picture of the e:HEV badge, and also makes it clear that the car will be offered in different modifications.
The hybrid version will look almost entirely like the standard model, with the exception of additional body badges and black décor elements replacing the chrome trim.
Inside, the car will be in all-black instead of the two-tone beige and black of the classic diesel model.
The available equipment will match the top-of-the-line ZX model of the ICE version.
In addition, the hybrid modification may get ADAS features.
These include lane departure warning, collision avoidance, automatic high beam, lane keeping assist and adaptive cruise control.
As for the power characteristics, in this case, the standard 1.5-liter «atmospheric» will be replaced by a motor of similar volume, working in tandem with two electric motors.
Gasoline unit produces a maximum of 98 horsepower. The engine will be paired with a variator.
In addition, one of the electric motors will drive the front wheels through a single-stage gearbox, and the second will be able to work as an integrated starter generator.
The engine that drives the front wheels will be able to develop a maximum power of 109 hp and torque of 253 N*m.
