Xcite X-Cross 7.
The new Xcite X-Cross 7 crossover is a renamed Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, and a pre-restyling one (still without the Max prefix): we sold such cars from 2020 to 2023.
The Xcite X-Cross 7 crossover became the first-born of the new Russian brand.
This car was supposed to be a Lada. After all, it was AVTOVAZ, which bought the former St. Petersburg Nissan plant for a symbolic 1 euro, that decided to load this site with the assembly of Chinese cars.
At first, the company was given a new name “Lada St. Petersburg” and even with fanfare they announced the start of assembly of the Lada X-Cross 5 crossovers (renamed FAW Bestune T77), but this project eventually stalled, and cooperation with FAW was stopped without announcing the reasons.
The project for assembling Chinese cars was revised, removing all references to Lada and AVTOVAZ, the plant was first renamed again (now it is Avtozavod St. Petersburg LLC), and then completely transferred to the management of NAMI.
Finally, a separate brand Xcite (from the English verb excite — “iksayt”) was invented for the cars assembled here. And here is the first model.
As it turned out, the Chery company became the new partner of the St. Petersburg plant, although, of course, they do not talk about this officially and publicly.
The Xcite differs from the Chinese source in its emblems and nameplates, as well as its radiator grille, although it was taken from the stash: the same grille is installed on DR 6.0 cars, that is, an Italian-assembled Tiggo for the European market.
The overall dimensions of the X-Cross 7 and Tiggo 7 Pro models are completely identical: length — 4500 mm, width — 1842 mm, height — 1702 mm.
The passport ground clearance (190 mm) and trunk volume (475-1500 l) are also completely the same.
The pre-restyling interior has separate instrument (7-inch) and media system (10.25-inch) screens, a non-locking gearbox joystick and a touch-sensitive climate control unit.
The database already states the presence of a full set of heating (first and second row seats, windshield, steering wheel, exterior mirrors and windshield washer nozzles), keyless entry, remote engine start with the key, electric tailgate and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto protocols.
Six airbags, ESP and twelve electronic assistants are responsible for safety.
Under the hood there are also no revelations: a 1.5 turbo engine (147 hp, 210 Nm) and a CVT.
This is enough for the Xcite X-Cross 7 to accelerate to “hundreds” in 9.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 186 km/h.
Like the pre-reform Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, its twin under the Xcite brand is equipped with an uncontested front-wheel drive.
Specifications and prices have not yet been made public. Sales of Xsites should begin in April.
The updated Tiggo 7 Pro Max with front-wheel drive now costs 2.8-3.1 million rubles, so the X-Cross 7 should be cheaper.
The first batch of several thousand cars has already been produced, and a separate dealer network is being formed, although the network of the Lada brand will most likely be taken as a basis.
