BMW 327-2 Hommage.
The sporty BMW 327-2 Hommage in neo-retro style has been shown on renders.
We are dealing with an independent study of a modern BMW 327, conceived by automotive designers Jeffrey Decembrie and Pierre Senele.
Inspired by the aerodynamic lines of the classic BMW 327 introduced back in 1937, car designers Jeffrey Decembrie (exterior) and Pierre Senele (interior) have teamed up to create a modern version of the touring coupe.
According to the authors of the renders, the goal of this project was to «revisit the BMW of the 1930-1950 era,» rather than to criticize or offer an alternative to what BMW Design does today.
The end result is a four-seat grand tourer, depicted in coupe and convertible bodies.
It is a luxury sports model that could sit between the Porsche 911 and the Bentley Continental GT.
The BMW 327-2 Hommage is 4,475 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,330 mm high. This makes it 43 mm longer than the current BMW 2-Series Coupe.
The car gets big wheels and a short front overhang, because of which it looks more dynamic.
The decoration of the front part is a high and narrow grille, organically combined with large air intakes and thin high mounted LED headlights.
The license plate is moved to the side of the bumper, as in Alfa Romeo models, in order not to obscure the grille.
The front pillar is also made in a retro style. The rear is also quite interesting, as it has a completely original design.
The variant with a fixed top gets thin LED taillights, and the convertible received horizontal headlights in the spirit of current BMW Z4.
As for the interior, the designers wanted to «build a bridge between heritage and boldness as a transition between the brand’s past and future.
The digital cabin behind the futuristic steering wheel is clearly driver-oriented without big screens or fancy graphics.
The center tunnel looks soaring thanks to the transparent shell, while the front passenger area is more minimalist.
The four-seat cabin is upholstered in leather with elements of brushed aluminum and carbon fiber, and the decorative lighting changes according to driving style.
The seats are modeled after 20th-century furniture pieces, but combine sporty details and feature movable headrests.
