Alfa Romeo Tonale 2023.

Alfa Romeo has shown the Tonale 2023 electric crossover in 90 new images.

Although Alfa Romeo unveiled its new Tonale crossover in February, there was only a small collection of photos for interested readers at launch.

Now, however, the brand has released a huge number of new photos.

The new car will be Alfa Romeo’s most important vehicle in recent memory, as the brand hopes to double its sales with a small premium crossover.

These photos give us a better chance than ever to see how closely the Tonale sticks to the concept.

Building on the evolution of the FCA platform, the new crossover uses aluminum, increased track width, and compatibility with electrified powertrains to win over new customers.

For North American motorists, that will mean two powertrain options at launch: one is a conventional 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 256 hp and a plug-in hybrid that pairs the 1.3-liter engine with a dedicated engine. In total, the output is 272 hp.

European motorists will also get a pair of hybrids that combine a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a 48-volt, 15 kW engine.

They develop 148 hp or 178 hp, depending on the package, and in some markets will be joined by a 1.6-liter turbodiesel with 128 hp.

New photos give a better view of the 10.25-inch Amazon Alexa-powered tablet infotainment system.

The 12.5-inch instrument display is under the familiar dual-cap.

With dual-zone air conditioning, a ventilated and heated seat option, and a 14-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system, the new Tonale should fit perfectly into premium fare.

Crossover Alfa Romeo Tonale will be offered only in two options with historical for the brand names Super and Ti (Turismo Internazionale), but in addition, option packages with not less familiar names Sprint and Veloce are provided.

All versions differ not only in the level of equipment, but also in the thematic decor.

Among the options are matrix headlights and second-level autopilot, that is, adaptive cruise control with lane-holding function.

Other electronic assistants are also provided, there is ventilation of the front seats and auto parker, but the panoramic roof is not visible on the brand photos, nor in the presentation materials.

Produce Tonale will be in Italy, the plant in Pomigliano d’Arco, which used to produce many models of Alfa Romeo, but since 2011 make only hatchbacks Fiat Panda.

In Europe sales will start in the coming autumn, in America — only in the beginning of 2023.

And the Alfa Romeo brand left the Russian market back in 2016, and it is not going to come back yet.
