The Germans presented the «charged» sedan and hatchback Audi RS3 2022 of the new generation.

In mid-July 2021, the Germans completely declassified the «charged» Audi RS3 of the new generation. On the market, the model will be offered both as a sedan and a Sportback hatchback.

From the usual versions of the model, the «lighter» can be easily recognized by the radiator grill, which has received a wide glossy black edging and an original honeycomb pattern.

The Germans also increased the air intakes in the front bumper and revised the graphics of the LED headlights.

The front fenders of the model have become more puffy and received vertical ventilation slots.

The «hot» sedan and hatchback are fitted with original 19-inch wheels. The latter are dark in color and for the first time can be “shod” in semi-slick Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R.

At the rear of the model, there are menacing lights and a black diffuser with a pair of large oval RS Sport Exaust exhaust pipes.

The latter has an electronically controlled damper that allows you to achieve maximum «evil» sound.

The interior of the novelty matches the exterior, and when ordering the optional Design package, the interior will additionally receive contrasting green or red accents.

To please passengers, sports seats are designed, which can be trimmed with Nappa leather for an additional fee.

For the driver, there is an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel with a truncated rim, which can have an optional red zero mark.

This «steering wheel» also has paddle shifters and a button to activate the «evil» RS Mode preset.

Salon Audi RS3 has a 12.3-inch digital tidy with advanced functionality (for example, it can display the lap time).

Additional driver information is also displayed on the head-up display and on the 10.1-inch touchscreen of the multimedia system.

The «charged» novelty is set in motion by a 2.5-liter five-cylinder TFSI turbo engine.

It is capable of developing 400 hp. (in the range from 5,600 to 7,000 rpm) and 500 Nm (from 2,250 to 5,600 rpm).

Such an engine works in tandem with a reconfigured seven-speed robot with two wet clutches.

The model has a full drive, and the transmission uses the RS Torque Splitter system. This means that instead of the usual clutch and center differential at the rear, side clutches are used.

Due to this solution, electronics can transfer up to 100% of the torque to each rear wheel. This allows control of the thrust vector and improves understeer.

According to the Germans, the Audi RS3 2022 is capable of accelerating from zero to a hundred in 3.8 seconds (- 0.3 seconds compared to its predecessor).

The maximum speed is traditionally limited by electronics to 250 km / h. For a surcharge, the collar can be loosened up to 280 km / h (when ordering the RS Dynamic package).

Well, if you pay extra for ceramic brakes from above, then up to 290 km / h.

In addition to the standard driving presets, the «charged» sedan and hatchback also have several additional ones, namely RS Performance and RS Torque Rear.

According to the developers, the first is best suited for races on the track, and the second is a drift mode — when activated, the car becomes rear-wheel drive.

The «charged» RS3 has a seriously modified suspension with a new front subframe, as well as different shock absorbers and stronger bearings.

The ground clearance of the new item is 25 mm lower than that of the A3 (10 mm when compared to the S3).

The negative camber of the front wheels is increased by one degree, and the rear ones by about half a degree.

By default, the new PC3 has front brakes with 375mm discs and six-piston calipers, and the rear ones with 310mm discs and conventional floating calipers.

Compared to its predecessor, this system not only has improved cooling, but is also 10 kg lighter.

For a surcharge for the front wheels, 380 mm ceramic discs can be ordered at all, which allows you to lose another 10 kg.

Cars with this option can be distinguished by the red, blue or gray color of the brake calipers.

In Europe, orders for the new Audi RS3 Sedan and RS3 Sportback will start in mid-August 2021, and deliveries of the first cars to customers will begin in the fall.

Prices are already known: for a hot hatch, the Germans ask for at least 60,000 euros (5.25 million rubles at the current exchange rate), and for a «hot» sedan — from € 62,000 (5.45 million rubles).

In Russia, such machines will appear no earlier than the twenty-second.
