Chevrolet Seeker 2023: New crossover shown in official teaser for the first time. It could compete with the Hyundai Creta and Tucson.

In April this year, photos of the new compact crossover for this exotic market, developed by a joint venture SAIC-GM, appeared in the Ministry of Industry of China.

The car was named Chevrolet Seeker 2023. Today was shown the first teaser of the novelty with the statement that the debut will be July 28, and under the hood may be a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine.

Despite the fact that the crossover is positioned as an absolute novelty, its exterior design is easily recognizable brand features of Chevrolet.

In particular, at the front is the familiar radiator grille and two-tiered headlights.

At the top there are very thin LED headlights, and underneath them there are large high beam units.

The entire lower part of the body is surrounded by black plastic, protecting the most vulnerable elements of the crossover body, including the wheel arches.

Despite the fact that the manufacturer itself positions the car as a compact parkette, in fact its dimensions are between Hyundai Creta and Tucson.

Thus, the length, width and height of the car reach 4537/1823/1564 mm respectively.

The wheelbase is 2 700 mm. It is also reported that depending on the configuration, the crossover will receive 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels.

It is still unknown about Chevrolet Seeker’s equipment, but most likely this parameter will affect cost of the crossover.

But we know, that one of the engines will be 1.5-liter turbo four rated at 197 hp.

It is not known, what it will be combined with; most likely, several transmissions will enter the range, one of which will be an «automatic».

Chevrolet has published the first official teaser of the new crossover model called Seeker and confirmed that the model will be global.

The first market for the Chevrolet Seeker will be China, where it will make its debut on July 28.

However, the American automaker didn’t manage to keep the intrigue until the premiere: revealing photos of the car have already appeared in the Chinese Ministry of Industry.

The Seeker is 4.5 meters long with a 2.8-meter wheelbase, so it will be between the Trailblazer and Equinox.

According to certification documents, the novelty will be offered on Chinese market with a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo four rated at 179 horsepower.

Production will be set up at GM-SAIC joint venture in China.

The Seeker has two-tiered headlights with narrow LED daytime running light strips on top and main headlight units below.

The C-shaped taillights, contrary to the trend, are not connected by a diode strip.

A sporty RS version has already been announced for the model, which will differ from the standard version with red accents.

Chevrolet has not yet disclosed information about the countries where the Seeker will be sold, except for China.

According to unofficial data, the novelty can be brought to South America and the United States.
