The Chevrolet Tracker 2023 crossover may reach Russia? The model is already being produced in the CIS.

Today in Uzbekistan at the plant Uzauto Motors assembly of Chevrolet Tracker 2023 model year has started.

The fourth-generation Tracker was introduced to Uzbek market last year.

The manufacturer announced the return of the car to Russian market at the same time.

Recall, the third generation model has already been in Russia and stayed in our market for three years. The car was withdrawn from sales in 2015.

However, with the new version, the manufacturer wanted to resume the sale of the compact crossover in the Russian Federation, but now it is only a dream, but it is unknown to whom: the Russians or General Motors.

In turn, in Uzbekistan, the car has been in fairly reasonable demand for a year.

Until recently, the car came to the country from China, but now the production is localized in Asaka, where they already assembled the first test model.

By the way, the leadership of Uzauto Motors reports that the plant will produce the first time 80,000 copies of the model annually, and over time production volumes will increase.

It is still unknown whether the cars will be sent to other CIS countries. It is not ruled out that the crossover may appear on Kazakhstan market.

It is worth noting that in Uzbekistan, the model will get a new 1.2-liter turbocharged engine with a maximum output of 132 horsepower.

By the way, the motors will also be assembled at the Uzauto Motors plant. Paired with this unit works six-speed automatic gearbox.

We should also mention the stylish exterior design of the updated version and a fairly technological interior.

Edition Quto.ru reports that in some Russian showrooms there are crossovers Chevrolet Tracker.

Cars were imported to our country unofficially from Kazakhstan, where they are assembled at local plant from Chinese car-parts.

Note that the size of the «American» model is comparable with crossovers Hyundai Creta and Renault Kaptur.

It is completed with a liter turbo engine capacity of 125 hp and a six-speed automatic.

In our country, all «gray» Trakers were imported by privateers, although their sales are engaged in car dealerships.

It is interesting, that these cars are supposedly covered by dealer warranty, but how it is in fact — unknown.

In Russian showrooms are presented only LT crossovers, which have leather interior, climate control, on-board multimedia and stabilization system.

In Kazakhstan such cars cost 10,690,000 tenge (1.4 million rubles at the current exchange rate).

But the Russian dealers’ prices are much more expensive — from 1.65 million rubles, although some sellers even ask for 2.2 million rubles.

It is worth noting that in the summer of 1922, production of Chevrolet Tracker was also set up in Uzbekistan, and on a full cycle.

Here crossover LS (16-inch wheels, air conditioning and more advanced multimedia) costs 209 million soums (about 1.15 million rubles).

It would seem more logical to bring Uzbek-assembled cars to Russia, but General Motors has banned the plant from exporting cars to Russian dealers — in case of violation, the company will face severe sanctions, up to stopping the assembly line.
