The American company Chrysler is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the minivan segment with the release of the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica model year.
Yes, it was the Chrysler brand that pioneered the MVP segment four decades ago.
The start of minivans was given on November 2, 1983, when the very first generation of family cars, embodied in the Plymouth Voyager, rolled off the assembly line at the Windsor assembly plant in Ontario.
Since then, more than fifteen million Chrysler vans have been produced.
In honor of this remarkable anniversary, the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica family will go on sale with several exciting updates.
The model is presented in a fresh interior color, adding a touch of elegance to the van’s interior.
In addition, two new exterior colors, bright red and dark green, give the car a vibrant and sophisticated look.
But evolution doesn’t stop there. The Pacifica Hybrid plug-in range is expanding to include two new versions.
Even new variations are equipped with an emergency alert function (EVAS). In addition, for an additional fee it will be possible to add even more comfort options.
Over 40 years, more than 15 million Chrysler minivans have been sold around the world (including in Russia).
On the Russian market, the Pacifica remained the last Chrysler model until the brand completely curtailed sales in our country.
The last Pacifica imported to Russia was sold in June 2021.
In the US, the Pacifica is in steady demand and is the only rechargeable hybrid in the class of family minivans.
In honor of the anniversary and the transition to the new 2024 model year, several updates have been prepared for it: two body colors, Red Hot and Baltic Gray, a new Sepia interior color and expanded capabilities of the Uconnect 5 platform.
The minivan received an emergency notification from other vehicles (EVAS) function — the car is warned about situations on the road, information about which it receives, for example, from emergency services.
Chrysler recently released its 100,000th plug-in hybrid Pacifica.
The gas-electric Pacifica can travel about 53 kilometers on electricity alone, and the 16-kilowatt-hour battery can be recharged from a household electrical outlet.
