Fiat Fastback coupe crossover completely declassified: the design «under BMW» and turbo engines.

The novelty is made on the same «bogie» as the budget Fiat Pulse, with which the «coupe» shared the technique. At the moment, the new model is offered in three versions.

Fiat hinted at the appearance of a coupe-like crossover in its range back in 2018, showing a concept Fastback.

The production version was revealed last summer, and it kept the name of the forerunner.

And now the novelty is finally presented officially. Recall, the «coupe» Fiat Fastback is designed specifically for Latin America, production is set up in Brazil, this country and became the debut market for the parkette.

With the show car four years ago, the commercial SUV has only a name.

The fact that the concept was made on the basis of the Fiat Toro pickup (the truck is built on a stretched «truck» Small Wide 4×4), while the production Fiat Fastback shared the MLA platform with a compact crossover Fiat Pulse, which debuted in Brazil last year.

Stellantis itself considers the MLA architecture new, although it is a modernized version of the MP1 platform behind the Fiat Argo hatchback and Cronos sedan.

The coupe has a length of 4,427 mm, width of 1,774 mm, height of 1,545 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,533 mm. Ground clearance — 192 mm, trunk volume — 516 liters (VDA).

For comparison, the dimensions of the related Fiat Pulse: 4099/1774/1579 mm, axle spacing — 2532 mm, ground clearance — 190 mm, trunk volume — 370 liters.

In terms of appearance, Fiat Fastback distinguished not only by coupe-like silhouette, but also by the presence of narrow elongated lamps with diode sections in the form of letter L, due to which from behind (and in profile) the Parkette is similar to BMW X4.

In front, however, there is nothing about the premium «German»: the headlights are the same as those of related Pulse, but the bumper of the «coupe» is original, and the radiator grille has «grid» instead of horizontal stripes.

Inside, the Fastback as a whole copied its relative, except that they tried to give more «luxury» to the interior of the coupe because of shining and glossy black inserts, plus new cup holders appeared on the central tunnel.

However, there is a more significant update: the Fiat Fastback debuted electronic parking brake — the other Brazilian models of the brand do not have it.

Brazilians are offered with three quite rich options.

In the basic Audace has 17-inch wheels, LED full headlights, paddle paddles, four airbags, multimedia system with 8.4-inch touchscreen, the same electronic parking brake, «digital» air conditioning, wireless charging for smartphone, rearview camera, rear Parktronic, cruise control, auto brake and lane departure warning systems.

The Impetus version receives two-tone body painting, fog lights, 18-inch wheels, front Parktronic, «sports» steering wheel, leather upholstery, virtual instrument panel (7″) and a multimedia system with a 10.1-inch screen.

And the top version with a long name Limited Edition Powered by Abarth has black exterior decor, tinted 18-inch wheels and nameplates with the name of the version on the front fenders and luggage door.

«Coupe» is available only with turbo engines (the cheapest Pulse has an «atmospheric» engine). The Audace and Impetus versions have a 1.0 «turbo» engine, which produces 125 hp on gasoline and 130 hp on Brazilian common ethanol (the Pulse has a similar motor); this engine is combined with a variator.

Under the hood of the top Fastback Limited Edition Powered by Abarth is established «turbo four» 1.3 with 180/185 hp (gasoline/ethanol), it is completed with a classic six-speed «automatic» (the base Fiat Pulse does not get this pair, but the Fiat Pulse Abarth has such engine and box, after which is named the most expensive Fastback).

Drive is exclusively front-wheel drive (as well as the Pulse). According to the manufacturer, the cross-coupe with a liter turbo can accelerate up to a hundred for 9,4 seconds, with the 1.3T engine — for 8,1 seconds (in both cases we speak about the versions on ethanol).

In Brazil, a Fiat Fastback with a 1.0 turbo engine costs from $25,000, a cross-coupe with a 1.3T will cost at least $29,000. The price of the related Fiat Pulse starts at $18,500 there.

Later, Fiat’s coupe-shaped parkettes will reach other Latin American countries, but the Fastback is unlikely to appear in other regions.
