Ford Explorer ST 2023.

This low-slung Ford Explorer ST gets 657 hp of power.

A tuning studio has unveiled an upgraded version of the full-size Ford Explorer ST crossover.

Among other things, the novelty boasts a lowered suspension as well as a 657 horsepower engine.

This Ford Explorer ST does not look like the usual versions of this American crossover and does not boast a four-digit output of its engine.

But at the same time, this upgraded crossover boasts 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 10 seconds.

For reference, the standard 2020 Ford Explorer ST has a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with 400 horsepower, and with sticky summer tires, it can accelerate to 100 km/h in about 5.0 seconds.

That’s not bad for a huge three-row crossover, but the owner of this car always wanted more.

When restrictions were imposed in 2020 because of COVID, he went a little crazy and started looking for ways to modify his family car.

Apparently, no one warned Kevin in advance that once you start down the road of modification, you can hardly ever finish it.

It started out simple enough. Modern cars with turbocharged engines usually respond well to engine tune-ups, and as the current owner of this crossover explains, he first decided to add an extra 100 horsepower to the engine.

He liked it, and from that point on it went like clockwork. Unfortunately, there aren’t many tuning studios that do upgrades specifically for the Ford Explorer, so even something as simple as upgrading the exhaust system required a special approach.

He found FenFabrication atelier and created an exhaust system that looked more like a work of art.

The owner was so pleased with the end result that he stopped at FenFabrication for many other upgrades.

The list of all modifications is more like a parts catalog for the Toyota Supra A80.

Upgraded turbos, a high-flow intake manifold, upgraded bypass valves, downpipes, intercooler, injectors and more contribute to the fact that the standard 3.0-liter V6 now produces 657 hp to all four wheels.

Assuming a 20 percent loss in drivetrain, this crossover can produce about 820 hp at the crankshaft.

The power is enough to make this three-row crossover run 402 meters in 10.9 seconds.

The car is also equipped with upgraded eight-piston brakes.
