Ford has prepared an extreme version for the F-150 Raptor pickup.
The new truck received the letter «R» in the name and can boast a number of unique features.
Visually, this modification differs from the «regular» Raptor only by some details.
In particular, it has black bumpers and the same wheel arches. Plus it has a modified hood and cargo door, as well as special decals.
The Ford F-150 Raptor R’s extreme interior is notable for the presence of carbon fiber decor.
It also features Recaro sport bucket seats with a combination of genuine black leather and alcantara trim.
On the front of the car is a 12.0-inch display of the multimedia system SYNC, which boasts the presence of «over the air» update function.
The new Ford F-150 Raptor R drives a 5,2-liter engine Predator V8, which the Americans have borrowed from Mustang Shelby GT500.
But the «charged» pickup received this engine in a derated form: it produces «only» 710 hp and 868 Nm, available at 4,250 rpm.
We shall remind you that the performance of the above mentioned muscle car is slightly higher — 770 hp.
According to the developers of Ford Performance division, the engine has been finalized with the aim of off-road and maximum performance at medium speeds.
For example, a cast stainless steel exhaust manifold has been installed to improve reliability.
The car also received a special oil cooler and filter. It had a recalibrated mechanical supercharger and increased air intake volume by 66%, which had a positive effect on cooling.
The engine works in conjunction with a ten-speed automatic. Drive of the modification is all-wheel drive with a clutch to connect the front axle.
It is reported that this pickup weighs 2,699 kg, but its dynamic characteristics are not specified.
A new Ford F-150 Raptor R can be distinguished by reconfigured suspension, which was involved Fox shock absorbers with remote reservoirs and electronic control.
The base model is already equipped with 37-inch tires, which are available for the standard version of the model for an extra fee.
