GAC Aion Hyper SSR 2024.

Chinese supercar GAC Aion Hyper SSR 2024 hits the market: 1225 hp and 1.9 s to “hundreds”.

The GAC Aion Hyper SSR is equipped with a three-motor electric power plant and weighs less than 2 tons; at the start of sales, the supercar is offered in three trim levels to choose from, including the Ultimate track version.

The Hyper SSR premiered in September last year, and now production has begun, with the first hand-assembled machines delivered to customers.

The letters SSR in the name stand for Super, Sport and Race, and Hyper has essentially become an independent sports brand within the GAC company.

A separate website was launched for it, although the first two Hyper models — the SSR supercar and the fastback GT — are still presented on the Aion brand website.

For now, Hyper line cars will also be sold through Aion dealers.

There are now many more technical details about Hyper SSR than there were a year ago.

The power structure of the body, as it turned out, is made of aluminum alloy, but all the outer panels are made of carbon fiber.

The overall length of the supercar is 4556 mm, width — 1988 mm, height — 1230 mm, wheelbase — 2650 mm.

Curb weight — 1990 kg, gross weight — 1280 kg. A retractable active wing is installed at the stern, a developed diffuser is built into the rear bumper, and the aerodynamic tail creates 100 kg of download at a speed of 250 km/h. The sliding doors are equipped with an electric drive.

The stated torsional rigidity of the body is 50,475 Nm/degree, which is a lot: for comparison, let’s say that the torsional rigidity of the body of the newest Lamborghini Revuelto is 40,000 Nm/degree, the Danish supercar Zenvo Aurora is 63,000 Nm/degree.

The Hyper SSR has a spring suspension on double wishbones all around, with adaptive shock absorbers that have several operating modes.

The brakes are carbon ceramic, with six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston at the rear. The size of the front tires is 245/35 R 20, the rear tires are 305/30 R 20.

The Hyper SSR powerplant consists of three electric motors (one on the front axle, two on the rear), their maximum combined output is 1225 hp. and 1230 Nm.

The capacity of the 900-volt flat battery mounted in the floor is 74.69 kWh, the range on one charge is 506 km according to the CLTC cycle.

The basic Hyper SSR accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.3 seconds, the advanced versions Sprint and Ultimate in 1.9 seconds, the maximum speed of all versions is limited to 250 km/h.

The Ultimate version is presented as a track version, it has special settings for the chassis and driving electronics.

The Hyper SSR’s two-seater cabin is lavishly trimmed in leather and has a rather original design of central air ducts, which are like the base of a floating central tunnel.

The instrument screen size is 8.88 inches, the multimedia screen is 14.6 inches.

Both seats are equipped with ventilation, heating and electric adjustments. There is a small trunk in the stern for bags.

The Hyper SSR price range is the same as promised a year ago: the base version costs 1,286,000 yuan ($177,000 at current exchange rates), the Sprint version costs 1,386,000 yuan ($190,000), the Ultimate version costs 1,686,000 yuan ($232,000).
