Electric roadster MG Cyberster: photos of the production version and power figures.

A week before the world premiere in Shanghai, photos of the MG Cyberster electric roadster flashed in the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry, the all-wheel drive version will have a power of 544 hp.

As a concept car, the MG Cyberster debuted exactly two years ago at the Shanghai Motor Show, the premiere of the production version will take place there next week, and the Chinese Ministry of Industry, as usual, uploaded photos of many new products to the Web, including the MG roadster.

However, we already know what the serial roadster looks like from patent images, but photographs, of course, give a better idea of the new product.

The serial MG Cyberster does not look as impressive as the concept, but in its appearance there is continuity with the last primordially British MG F / TF roadster (produced from 1995 to 2011), which was equipped with rather weak gasoline 4-cylinder engines with a capacity of no more than 160 hp. With.

The electric Cyberster will be much more powerful and noticeably larger than its «hydrocarbon» ancestor, whose length did not exceed 4 m.

For the MG brand, which, we recall, has been owned by the Chinese concern SAIC since 2005, the Cyberster roadster is an important milestone, symbolizing the return of MG to its historical roots, that is, to sports cars. The Cyberster is aimed primarily at European customers, while in China MG has recently been offering petrol-powered sports models such as the spectacular MG 7 liftback.

In 2022, the MG brand was not able to sell 150,000 vehicles in Europe as planned, but nevertheless recorded an impressive sales growth of 116% compared to 2021 to 113,672 vehicles (data from JATO Dynamics).
