New DS 3 2023.

The updated DS 3 crossover is presented.

The mid-size DS 7 crossover lost its Crossback prefix back in the summer during a planned update, and now the compact DS 3 Crossback has suffered the same fate.

Four years after its debut, this elevated five-door with a length of 4118 mm is called exactly the same as before the DS 3 three-door hatchback.

The accompanying modernization program was modest, although the electric version received the most upgrades.

Basically, the changes in design are focused on the face. There is a new bumper, wider grille, and large LED «fangs» of running lights are now made in the form of twin lines.

The shape and filling of the LED headlights has been changed, for an extra fee, as before, the matrix headlights are offered: each has three diodes, they are divided into 15 segments.

The décor on the rear is changed only around the lights, and the central molding now bears the name of DS Automobiles.

The wheels are redesigned (17 or 18 inches in diameter), and the body color palette is revised and now has a bright red Diva Red color.

New all-around cameras with increased resolution are installed along the perimeter.

Except for the revised list of trim materials, the most noticeable update in the cabin is a different steering wheel with more puffy spokes, which have more buttons.

The basic media system with a 7-inch screen is not used anymore, now all the cars have 10.3-inch screen, which was an option before, and the DS Iris System multimedia system gained a modern interface and voice control. The top version of Opera has seats upholstered in nappa leather.

The set of petrol and diesel versions is reduced from five to three.

The updated DS 3 is offered with a petrol turbo 1.2 PureTech which with «manual» makes 100 hp, and with an eight-graded «automatic» — 130 hp.

Turbo Diesel 1.5 BlueHDi (130 hp) is combined only with an automatic transmission. There are no technical changes.

But the electric DS 3 E-Tense became more advanced. Power of the electric motor is increased from 136 to 156 hp, although the torque is the same (260 Nm).

And traction battery capacity has increased from 50 to 54 kW∙h. Combined with reduced power consumption it allowed to increase the range from 340 to 402 km on the WLTP cycle.

The Parkett is equipped with an AC charger rated at 11 kW, while the DC charger is rated at 100 kW.

Orders for the updated DS 3 are already open in Europe. The gasoline version costs at least 30100 euros, and for the electric version they ask from 4700 euros. All the «three» are produced in France.
