Nichols N1A 2023: A lightweight analogue supercar from an experienced Formula 1 car designer.

The British built the Nichols N1A light roadster in the style of the classic McLaren M1A.

A little-known British company Nichols Cars introduced its first model — N1A. This is a sports car that was designed with an eye on the McLaren M1A racing roadster from the 1960s.

The novelty has almost the same exterior design, while its body is made of carbon fiber with the addition of graphene.

The use of such material made it possible to make the car very light — it weighs less than the Mazda MX-5.

The body of the model is quite streamlined, and it was tested in a wind tunnel. The developers note that the downforce generated by it is much greater than that of a classic roadster.

The interior of the N1A has a rich finish of expensive leathers and fabrics. Plus, milled aluminum was used in the interior design.

The seats here are installed like a classic McLaren MP4 / 4 car, which means that the driver and passenger will be able to feel the same thing that the British F-1 team once felt.

The Nichols N1A 2024 is based on an aluminum and carbon fiber chassis. It is powered by a 7.0-liter V8 engine based on the GM LS3 block.

The power unit was built with the participation of specialists from Langford Performance Engineering, founded by the famous F-1 minder Richard Langford.

The engine received many new components, namely sleeves, throttle bodies and pistons. Plus, it was equipped with a dry sump lubrication system.

On a roadster, the engine produces 659 hp. and works in conjunction with the mechanics of Dana Graziano, which transmits traction to the rear wheels.

Unfortunately, the dynamic characteristics are not advertised.

Of the other technical features of the novelty, it is worth noting the presence of regular traction control. But power steering and adjustable ABS are already options.

Nichols Cars plans to produce no more than a hundred of these cars, with the first 15 copies forming the so-called «welcome» series.

These cars will be dedicated to the McLaren MP4/4 victories in the 1988 Formula 1 season. The British have not yet advertised the cost of cars, but it promises to be high.
