Nio ET5 Touring 2024.

In June twenty-third, the Chinese company Nio declassified the electric station wagon ET5 Touring.

Note that in China «sheds» are not popular, so the novelty is primarily designed for the European market.

Nio ET5 Touring is not created from scratch, but on the basis of the ET5 sedan already on the market.

Stylistically, the wagon largely repeats this four-door, although the design of the sirloin part of the body is, of course, original.

The presented car has a two-story head optics, frameless doors and a glass roof. Its rear lights are made in the form of a single strip.

Inside the car, a stylish steering wheel with a rim flattened from below is installed, and a large multimedia touchscreen is placed in the center of the minimalistic (completely “naked”) front panel.

The 2024 Nio ET5 Touring has the same dimensions as its sister ET5 sedan.

The parameters of the station wagon in length, width and height are 4,790, 1,960 and 1,499 mm, respectively.

The peak output of the installation reaches 490 «mares» (700 Nm). The traction battery can be 75 kWh or 100 kWh.

In the first case, the power reserve is declared at the level of 456 km, and in the second — 590 km (measurements were made according to the WLTP cycle).

In terms of equipment, the station wagon is no different from the donor sedan, which means that it even has an autopilot with a lidar on the roof in the base.

But among the options there are innovations, namely a folding electric towbar.

Sales of Nio ET5 Touring station wagons will begin before the end of summer. In addition to Europe, they will be sold in their native China.

Pricing has yet to be announced, but the premium for the five-door body should be small. In China, for the base Nio ET5 sedan, they are now asking for 298,000 yuan (38,600 euros), and in Germany — from 47,500 euros.

There are simply no electric station wagons of this class now, the closest analogue “from below” is the Peugeot e-308 SW (approximately from 46 thousand euros), and “from above” is the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo (from 94 thousand euros).

Although electric Audi A6 Avant and BMW i5 Touring should appear next year.

Note that Nio has high hopes for the new product, moreover, there are no direct competitors to the Chinese electric station wagon on the market now.
