2022 Porsche Macan: restyling of the Porsche crossover.

The Porsche Macan crossover debuted 7 years ago and is still in its first generation. The transition to the second will take place only in 2023, and the new model will be purely electric.

In the meantime, the company has carried out a restyling, which has significantly changed the design, equipment and technology of the current car.

Orders for modernized crossovers are already being accepted, but the cars will only reach dealerships in the fourth quarter.

Prices for Russia are already known: the initial Makan in 2022 costs 5,390,000 rubles, the Makan S — 6,490,000 rubles, the Makan GTS — 7,490,000 rubles.

The rise in price relative to its predecessor is at least 740 thousand rubles, while the Turbo option is excluded from the range.

Exterior design

Restyling brought new bumpers to the SUV: the base modification and the S-version have an insert in the front grille in the body color, while the GTS version has an almost completely black nose.

The Makan head optics are now adaptive by default with dynamic lighting, and the model immediately gets the exterior mirrors in the Sport Design style.

The rear diffuser of the crossover is distinguished by an original three-dimensional ornament, which can be optionally ordered for the side skirts.

The wheels of the Makan are now 19 inches as standard. For «older» versions, the dimensions are 20 and 21 inches. The range includes seven new alloy wheel designs.

The exterior color palette has been replenished with orange and blue shades, and Python Green has been prepared for the GTS modification with the GTS Sport package. There are 14 colors in total.

The main and probably the most controversial innovation in the cabin is the appearance of touch buttons on the central tunnel instead of the previous analog ones.

A more compact gear lever and a new steering wheel have also been introduced. The chronometer at the top of the front panel now relies on all Macans, without exception.

The multimedia system remained unimproved. She, as before, has a Full HD display with a size of 10.9 inches, understands voice commands and provides access to a mass of online services.

As a result of the restyling, the crossover received new upholstery schemes and fresh decor options.

The GTS Sport package, relying on the top Macan, gives the car sports seats with 18 adjustments, special trim with carbon elements and specific leather inserts, contrasting stitching and green GTS lettering.


Radical changes have taken place in technology. The Turbo modification has disappeared from the line, and therefore the range is now crowned with the GTS variant.

The motors for all versions have been revised. The basic Makan got a modernized 2.0-liter turbo four, the output of which increased to 265 hp. and 400 Nm (+13 HP and 30 Nm).

Up to a hundred such a crossover accelerates in 6.2 seconds, although earlier it took 6.7 seconds. The maximum speed has increased from 227 to 232 km / h.

The performance of the Porsche Macan S has been assigned a completely different engine.

The old 3.0-liter V6 turbo unit with 354 hp. (480 Nm) gave way to a 2.9-liter V6 engine with dual supercharging.

The new «six» develops 380 hp. and 520 Nm, allowing the car to accelerate to «hundreds» in 4.6 seconds — half a second faster than before. The maximum speed has increased from 254 to 259 km / h.

The updated version of the GTS is also equipped with a six-cylinder 2.9-liter V-shaped configuration.

But here the output is increased to 440 hp. and 550 Nm — so much was in the demoted Turbo modification.

Restyled Macan GTS with Sport Chrono package gains 100 in 4.3 seconds and deflects the speedometer to 272 km / h.

All three variations of the crossover are equipped with a 7-speed PDK «robot» and an all-wheel drive system.

The chassis of the new 2022 model has been reconfigured with different dampers calibrated and improved steering feedback.

Adaptive suspension is standard on the S and GTS versions and is also offered as an option on the base machine.

From now on, the Macan GTS receives an air suspension lowered by 10 mm without any additional payments, the stiffness of which is increased by 10% at the front, and by 15% at the rear.
