Skoda Karoq 2022-2023.

The updated Skoda Karoq is preparing for the start of sales in Russia.

The compact parket car has been redesigned exterior, there are some updates in the interior, but they are modest. The equipment of the crossover for the Russian Federation remains the same.

In Russia full sales of the crossover Skoda Karoq started only in early 2020, while in the Old World the model debuted in 2017.

But with the restyling of the strong delay we, apparently, will not be: in the database of Rosstandart there is an updated type approval of the vehicle (OTTS), which entered the modernized parkette.

The certificate will come into force on February 28 this year. As before, the crossovers for Russia are produced in Nizhny Novgorod at the facilities of GAZ Group.

We recall that in Europe a refreshed Karoq was opened in November 2021, there are already taking orders for the model, the beginning of supply of customers is scheduled for spring.

Crossover got «twisted» headlights: running lights are now divided into two parts, changed the shape and located below the blocks.

The model also got more aggressive bumpers and bigger spoiler, wider radiator grille and narrower taillights.

For the «old-school» model for a surcharge, there is a matrix headlamp, and the lights, starting from the «middle» configuration, have dynamic turn signals.

Most likely, our Karok will have similar solutions. And before the Russian version was promised a new body color — orange.

The interior has improved LED backlighting, in addition there are more trim options.

Of the new equipment put Skoda Karoq in Europe — electric adjustment of the passenger seat and a system of auto braking when reversing, in addition, the assistant driving on the lane learned to identify all the markings and road works.

In the Old World virtual «dashboard» is now «in the base», but in the GTC of our cross-section «digital dashboard» is still listed in the «on request».

As expected, after restyling the Russian Karok kept petrol «atmospheric» 1.6 MPI and «turbo» 1.4 TSI rated at 110 and 150 hp respectively.

The base engine is still combined with 5-speed «manual» or six-speed «automatic», the turbo is paired with 8ACP or DSG-7.

A four-wheel drive is available only for a crossover with 1.4 TSI and a DSG box.

In Europe, the reforms haven’t touched the tech either, but the engine lineup is different there: petrol «turbo three» 1.0 TSI (110 hp) and «turbo four» 1.5 TSI (150 hp) and 2.0 TSI (190 hp; this engine is available only for «sportLine» version), plus a turbodiesel 2.0 TDI (116 or 150 hp).
