The presentation of three fresh Cadillacs at once is scheduled for May 28 in China: this is the second-generation CT6 sedan, the locally restyled XT4 crossover and a completely new GT4 model.

Well, today Cadillac shared branded pictures of the GT4.

This “five-door” is considered by local specialized media to be a “coupe-style” crossover, although it looks more like a cross-hatch.

The closest relative of the novelty is the aforementioned Cadillac XT4, the models share the E2XX platform with a transverse engine.

At the same time, the Cadillac GT4 is longer, narrower and lower than its brother, the dimensions of the new “five-door”: 4633/1878/1535 mm.

Indicators of the restyled Chinese XT4: 4602/1881/1628 mm. The wheelbase of the GT4 is 2800 mm compared to 2779 mm for the “full-fledged” SUV.

Appearance is framed in the current corporate style of the brand. Cadillac GT4 received separate narrow running lights, and additional vertical «fangs» are stuck to the main headlight units.

At the stern — T-shaped lights and flaunted twin pipes of the exhaust system, a spoiler was installed on the roof.

The model is available in two colors. In the cabin — a single scoreboard.

The Cadillac GT4 will be available with 1.5 and 2.0 petrol turbo engines with 204 and 230 hp. respectively.

According to preliminary data, the SUV with a junior engine will be offered exclusively with front-wheel drive, while cars with a two-liter engine have all-wheel drive.

The GT4 will be produced in China at a joint venture between GM and SAIC. Some local media believe that the starting price will be somewhere around $34,000.

For comparison, for the pre-reform Cadillac XT4, today they are asking for at least $37,000. The brand did not announce plans to sell GT4 in the US.
