On the Russian market, the luxury hybrid all-terrain vehicle is available in a single configuration, with additional options provided.
In 2022, the Chinese concern Dongfeng launched a separate brand, Mengshi, in its homeland to produce expensive electrified SUVs; its first-born was the giant with index 917.
And in November last year, Motorinvest, a distributor of Dongfeng, announced that the luxury SUV would appear in Russia.
True, here, as in other export markets, it was decided to sell the model under the M-Hero brand.
In the last autumn month, pre-orders were opened in the Russian Federation, and now the price has been announced and sales have started.
By the way, it turned out that the full name of the SUV intended for the Russian Federation sounds like M-Hero I.
The model has a frame, adaptive air suspension and a fully controlled chassis. The length of our M-Hero I is 5066 mm, width – 2080 mm, height – 1934 mm, wheelbase – 2950 mm.
Standard ground clearance is 221 mm, in Off-Road mode – 326 mm. The maximum fordable depth is 900 mm.
In Russia, the M-Hero I is now presented as a sequential all-wheel drive hybrid (in other countries a purely electric version is still announced).
The installation includes a 1.5 petrol turbo engine (operates only in generator mode to charge the battery) and three electric motors with a total output of 816 hp. and 1050 Nm.
The all-terrain vehicle has a triple lithium battery with a capacity of 65 kWh; on electric power alone, the vehicle can travel 175 km on the WLTP cycle; the total range with a full tank of gasoline is 750 km.
It is stated that the SUV with a curb weight of 3160 kg will reach the first “hundred” in 6 seconds.
The new product is offered in a unique and, of course, rich configuration.
M-Hero I by default has an obstacle detection system when driving on a blurry surface, an “automated decision-making function”, a “transparent body” camera with a night vision system, electronically controlled front and rear differential locks, Crab Mode, thanks to which the all-terrain vehicle can move diagonally.
The model’s arsenal also includes 20-inch wheels, Nappa upholstery, a Russified multimedia system, heated and ventilated all seats (all seats also have a massage function), all-round cameras, a rollover and frontal collision protection system, traction and deceleration control functions during sharp turns, adaptive cruise control and other assistants.
The price of M-Hero I is 15,990,000 rubles. Options include the Expansion package (roof rack, ladder and additional lighting; 600,000 rubles), electric winch (400,000 rubles), red calipers (100,000 rubles), decorative inserts in the cabin made of rare wood veneer (plus ceiling trim artificial suede; 300,000 rubles).
At the moment, the hybrid SUV is available in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Izhevsk, Krasnoyarsk, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Chelyabinsk and Yaroslavl.
Moreover, M-Hero I is exhibited in M-Space showrooms, created on the basis of official Voyah dealership centers (another Dongfeng sub-brand).
The distributor’s press service also noted that production and export quotas are “seriously limited.”
