Acura Integra 2023.

Acura Integra 2023 is the production version of the new liftback (new options and a powerful engine).

A subsidiary brand of Japanese company Honda under the name Acura returns Integra model after a long break of 2 decades.

Again, it will be the most compact and affordable car in the range. Over the past 10 years, this position was held by the Acura ILX.

The full-fledged return can be judged by the prototype, which was unveiled last fall, which caused an overwhelming response.

Many car enthusiasts were happy about it, who appreciated the stylistics of the yellow beauty.

In March this year the manufacturer introduced a new generation in the form of Acura Integra 2023.

Now it is a serial version of the prototype and at the same time worthy replacement for the ILX.

Appearance

The basis of the new Integra is taken from Honda Civic (11th generation) with front-wheel drive.

Except for the technical part, they have nothing in common otherwise, and the novelty basically repeats the prototype in yellow color, with few exceptions.

Thus the Civic is a sedan, whereas the new Acura is presented in a body of a liftback with five doors.

In other words, the developers decided to return to the original roots of the turn of 1985-1989, although at that time there were other types of body.

From the early models also got the lettering (name) with large symbols on the bumpers.

When creating the exterior image, engineers took the style according to which the 2019 Acura MDX crossover was created.

The designers put the pentagonal radiator grille at the front of the car for the first time, not including the frame (it was in the prototype). Because of this, a bit of the sense of sharpness is lost.

As in other Acura models, both sides of the grille have light units.

LEDs are equipped with daytime running lights, which are given a curved shape in the form of a visor over the headlights.

Headlights are also equipped with such stuffing, as well as rear lights.

C-pillar attracts attention — in the place where the roof goes down sharply, which is a classic sign of belonging to the liftback type. Soft contours of the stern look harmonious.

The presence of a duck spoiler and twin tailpipes of exhaust system indicates the sportiness.

Perhaps some fans of Integra will be disappointed with the design solution for the new Acura, but it does not prevent it to be energetic, driving with a bias toward the younger generation of drivers.

Interior and equipment

While the Integra and Civic have little in common externally, the interior is almost entirely copied:

The digital dashboard (10.2″);
multimedia display (in base — 7″, for top versions — 9″);
control unit of the climate system;
airflow controls.
But unlike Civic the front panel is decorated with a decorative overlay, ventilating diamond-shaped deflectors are not on all-width and are used expensive trimming materials.

The developers also did not put a big rotary switch on the central console to change driving modes.

Standard equipment includes a driver’s seat with an electric drive and 8 adjustments (12 are optional). In general, the basic equipment is not bad:

heated driver’s seat;
available sunroof;
rear side airbags;
electronic complex AcuraWatch.

For extra charge, you can count on the projection display (5.3″), ELS Studio 3D sound system (16 speakers).

Pedal pads and contrast stitching on the seats are available for models with the A-Spec sports package. Available wheel size 18″ (base 17″, optional 19″).

The body of the new Integra is roomy. Rear row seats after folding form a flat surface, which allows you to put large luggage. People with small height can sleep here.

A noticeable disadvantage of the liftback is the limited space for rear passengers. That is, tall people will experience discomfort.

Technical Specifications

The Japanese novelty 2023 is based on the same platform as the front-drive Honda Civic.

They even have the same wheelbase indicators, but other parameters are still different — length, width, height.

Under the hood of the car the designers have put a 200 horsepower 1.5 liter turbocharged engine, producing a maximum torque of 260 Nm.

The engine is paired in basic configuration with a variator that has fixed gears and paddle paddles.

For the sport models A-Spec a manual six-speed gearbox is available, in addition to a limited slip differential.

Novelty has front-wheel drive, and there are four driving modes:

Comfort.
Normal.
Sport.
Individual.

The engine is borrowed from the charged version of the Honda Civic Si, variator is taken from cars with weaker engines (Civic EX, Touring).

Competitors

Acura specializes in assembling premium cars. This puts it almost on par with competitors such as Toyota, Nissan, which have their own brands — Lexus, Infiniti.

Release date and prices

The assembly process for the new Integra 2023 car is set up at Ohio State’s manufacturing facilities. The Acura TLX comes off its assembly lines. This will be the first American car, since the earlier cars were assembled in their home country.

Sales in the U.S. market should start before the end of spring. The starting price point is $30,000. The base Honda Civic is priced at $22,000, and the Civic Si model costs at least $27,000.
