A complete rethink: the new Citroen C4 2021 is strikingly different from its predecessors.

In the summer of the twentieth year, the French presented a new third-generation Citroen C4 2021 model, which from now on has turned from a regular hatchback into a cross-hatch.

The all-terrain look of the car is given by the corresponding body kit made of unpainted plastic around the perimeter of the body.

Outside, the new Citroen C4 2021 is notable for the original head optics with separate LED «eyebrows» and a different configuration of the front bumper with enlarged side sections.

Compared to its predecessor, the car has got a more sloping roof with a strongly inclined rear window.

At the stern, the French tried to preserve the familiar shape of the lanterns, but at the same time united them with a massive black spoiler strip.

The rear bumper is also recognizable, but the characteristic stampings on the latter have now turned into full-fledged ventilation slots.

Like other modern models of the French brand, the Citroen C4 2021 in a new body boasts a wide range of personalization options.

The model offers 31 combinations of exterior design and six interior design options. Also, depending on the configuration, wheel rims with a diameter of 16, 17 or 18 inches are available for the car.

The car’s interior flaunts a virtual tidy, head-up display and modern multimedia with a 10.0-inch touchscreen multimedia system.

The miniature transmission selector is «recessed» into the bowels of the central tunnel, and the front panel has a built-in universal fastener for mobile gadgets «Smart Pad Support».

Note that the new body of the Citroen C4 in 2021 was the first European model of the manufacturer to receive an electric heated steering wheel and windshield.

With this five-door, the Arkamys audio system, dual-zone climate control, all-round cameras and a panoramic roof are also placed. Older configurations, among other things, have more comfortable front seats with massage.

The third generation Citroen C4 III is based on a stretched version of the CMP platform with semi-independent rear suspension.

The overall length of the cross-hatch is 4,360 mm, the wheelbase is 2,670, the width is 1,800, and the height is 1,525. Despite its «all-terrain» statute, the vehicle’s ground clearance is only 156 millimeters, and the trunk volume is 380 liters.

Note that the suspension of the car uses Progressive Hydraulic Cushions shock absorbers, which are equipped with the Citroen C5 Aircross crossover.

They feature additional hydraulic travel stops instead of standard rubber dampers. Thanks to this solution, an increased energy consumption is achieved, which positively affects the smoothness of the ride when driving on bad roads.

The line of power units of the European version of the Citroen C4 2021 is represented by 1.2-liter gasoline «turbo-trips» of the PureTech family with 100, 130 or 155 hp.

However, the hatchback can be ordered with a 1.5-liter BlueHDi turbodiesel, available in two boost options: 110 and 130 horsepower.

By default, the motors are paired with a six-speed manual, and the eight-speed automatic Aisin is reserved exclusively for the older gasoline and diesel versions, although for the 130-horsepower gasoline version such a box is also available, but only as a paid option.

All versions are exclusively front-wheel drive.

Plus, a fully electric version of the e-C4 was immediately prepared for the model. It is equipped with a 136 hp electric motor mounted on the front axle. and 260 Nm.

With it, the electric car accelerates from zero to a hundred in 9.7 seconds, and its maximum speed is limited to 150 km / h.

The French placed a traction battery with a capacity of 50 kWh under the cabin floor — it allows the electric car to travel up to 350 km without recharging (according to the WLTP cycle).

Another feature of the «Tse 4» is the second level quasi-autopilot Highway Driver Assist. The latter is adaptive cruise control, complemented by a car park and lane-keeping function.

The start of European sales of Citroen C4 is scheduled for autumn two thousand and twentieth, prices will be announced later. It is possible that in the future the car will appear on the Russian market.
