It’s better than Toyota. The new hydrogen Hopium Machina is officially unveiled.

The hydrogen car Hopium Machina, presented at the Paris Motor Show, is capable of becoming a serious competitor to the Toyota Mirai.

The luxurious Hopium Machina 2026 from the French brand intends to compete with the Japanese Toyota Mirai.

The result of the project on creation of a hydrogen car the young company Hopium presented within the limits of the Paris Auto Show which opened its doors on October 17.

For reference, the French brand was founded two years ago by Olivier Lombard, ex-racer and winner of the Le Mans marathon.

The novelty pretends to be a competitor not only for Toyota Mirai, but also for all exclusive European sedans.

The company has decided not to miss the opportunity, demonstrating its achievements on the site of the Paris Motor Show. This is the first car of the French startup.

Earlier, in 2021, a prototype called Alpha 0 was presented. The Hopium Machina fuel-cell car looks really luxurious and impressive.

It is characterized by streamlined shape and swift silhouette. The sedan looks futuristic, demonstrating unusual design solutions. The huge black rims with cutouts stand out against the general background.

The closed panel design with lots of small holes is combined with futuristic optics made in the form of a combination of LED curved lines framing the sides of the bumper.

The rear lights have the same design as the front optics, and also, as seen in the photo, the rear edging resembles the design of the front panel.

Along the lower part of the stern there are elements in the form of strokes, placed in staggered order. It will not be easy to oust the Toyota Mirai from the position of the most popular hydrogen car.

At the same time, in fact, the novelty has no competitors — in addition to the Mirai, we can note only the Honda Clarity. The range will be at the level of 1,000 km, and the hydrogen tanks can be filled in just 3 minutes.

The starting price for the car in the EU is marked at the level of 7.26 million in ruble equivalent at the current exchange rate.

The hydrogen fuel cell power plant includes two electric motors with an output of 500 hp. The car is equipped with special tires from Bridgestone, which have low rolling resistance.

The exercise of acceleration to the first «hundred» is done in 5 seconds, and the maximum speed is 230 km/h. Sales of the hydrogen car will start in 2025-2026.
